A few hours later, I was in a green room with Speed Cola. I had taken one of the chairs down from the table to have a place to sit. It was a bit too quiet, until Dempsey walked in. "So this is where you ran off to." He said, his voice low and gruff. "Yeah. Why are you trying to find me?" I grinned as I watched him walk down the stairs. "Just wanted to talk."
"You mean flirt?" I grinned at the soldier as he stepped closer, a smug grin plastered on his face. "I have something for ya.." He said before leaning down. His lips were close to mine before I pulled away, my hands on his chest. "You think I'm easy? You better reevaluate your thinking, Dempsey." My eyes narrowed a bit. Yeah, I was acting like a bitch, and I did say he was sexy in a way, but I didn't know he'd just go for it. "Dempsey, it's not that I don't have feelings for you, it's that it's too soon." I explained before he got pissed off. He walked away into another room. I heard him punch the wall, causing me to sigh.
I heard Nikolai walk in, taking a swig of Vodka before speaking. "What is Dempsey's problem?" He asked. "He's just being himself.. I may or may not have rejected his attempt to make a move on me.." I explained, making the Russian laugh. "He will get over it. Come, have drink with me." He put an arm around my shoulders. I shrugged and followed Nikolai out of the room.
Vodka was growing on me; the smell, the taste, the buzz it gave me. It was amazing. Why haven't I tried Vodka before?! I was having a blast with Nikolai, aka my new drinking buddy. We were singing random songs out of nowhere and causing a scene to make Dempsey, Richtofen, and Takeo stare at us with confusion. I found myself falling over either Richtofen or Dempsey at times, not even being able to hold my gun right when zombies were coming right for us. "Alright, Azalea, you need to go laid down or something." Dempsey said, annoyed with my drunken actions. "Dempsey, you're no fun!" I pouted, making Dempsey grin. "I can be tons of fun whenever you want me to, baby." He replied. I giggled a bit before blacking out.
I knew I was black out drunk, because I couldn't remember a damn thing. My head throbbed, but it didn't cause me pain. It was more like an orgasmic feeling. I was on the makeshift bed I had first woke up on. Richtofen was in the room with me, holding a gun. "Liebe, you shouldn't drink like that. You'll be like Nikolai." He said. I shrugged. "Eh. It's good to just have a little fun, right? Besides, I'm only 26, and I've never had that kind of fun before." I said with a smile. He sighed. "Azalea, there are important matters at hand that we can not screw up. There is no time for fooling around." He explained. "Well, aren't you a buzz kill." I crossed my arms over my chest. He sighed once more before kneeling in front of me. "Liebe, this is for your own protection." He continued, touching my cheek. "I can handle myself quite well, Edward."
"Not when you're drunk." He stated. My eyes narrowed. "I don't need anyone protecting me, Richtofen. I'm perfectly fine on my own." I growled and stood, stomping out of the room.
My head was throbbing more than ever. I was leaning on the podium of the theater stage, rubbing my temples. The pain felt nice, but the throbbing was getting on my nerves. Hangovers suck ass. I saw Dempsey walk in. I groaned softly, "What is it, Dempsey?" He walked over to me. "Heard what went down with the Doc."
"If you're asking if I'm okay, I'm fine. My head's just throbbing, and it's annoying." I said softly. "Look, hot stuff, I have to agree with Doc on this one. You couldn't even hold your damn gun without struggling." He said. "Dempsey, I can take care of myself. I don't need you, or Richtofen, or any one of you guys to protect me. I'm perfectly capable of defending myself." I growled softly. "Calm down, sweet cheeks. I know you can handle yourself, but you can't be drinking like you did." I looked at him and sighed. "Dempsey, can I be alone please?" I asked, looking into his blue eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but nodded his head and left me alone.
It was quiet, save the Juggernog jingle playing. My head slowly stopped throbbing as I sat down with my back against the podium. I had closed my eyes for a moment. Next thing I knew, I heard gunshots, causing me to get my gun and start shooting at incoming zombies. Blood splattered, heads flew. It felt nice to feel the adrenaline course through my veins once again. Spinning around like a ballerina, I didn't notice Richtofen in my path and I knocked him to the ground, me landing on top of him. I giggled a bit, "Sorry, Doc!" I got off of him and helped him up. "Don't worry about it, Liebe." He smiled at me. I looked over at Dempsey, who was glaring at us while firing his gun a few more times before stopping and storming off. Takeo patted my shoulder. "Do not worry about him, Azalea." He said before walking off. I felt kinda bad for Dempsey, but I figured he'd rather be alone.
A few hours later, I heard loud machinery starting, so I went to investigate. It was on the stage, and Richtofen was standing in front of the large machine that was there. "Doc?" I called to him. He turned around, his hat off. "Liebe! I got the machine working!" He yelled and hugged me. I backed away. "Doc, what is this machine?" I asked. "This, meine liebste, is a teleporter." I looked at the teleporter, taking a step inside. "So, where is it going to send us?" I asked as the others started to gather. "Not sure yet.." Richtofen replied as he hit a button and quickly got in.
I was not prepared for what I was about to get into...
