Chapter One: Awakening.
A small sound woke Isaac in the dead of night, his tired eyes saw nothing but the cold abyss of night. Moonlight lit his curtains giving a vague light for his bleary eyes to see by, the darkness receded around a shadowy figure standing at Isaac's door.
Isaac started, pulling his covers up in a startled manner as if the cushy blankets could protect him. Fear flooded Isaac choking him of his words, eventually he pushed through the fear and surprise to ask a stammering question.
"who a-are y-you?" Isaac blubbered.
Marax shifted in the shadows that concealed him, wisps of wraith like shadow wrapped themselves around him obscuring his features further until he was but an outline of a beast.
"I'm known as Marax." he breathed raggedly.
Silence descended between them as if a solid mass, Isaac's heart raced as fear pumped adrenaline through his veins. His breathing was as laboured as the strangely shaped shadow's as the two said nothing Isaac plucked his courage up from the grave it had dug itself.
"Answer me, who are you a-and what are you doing in my house?" Isaac failed to keep his voice steady or from sounding like a boy going through puberty.
"I sense much fear in you boy, don't be afraid of me I'm closer to you than you know and there are better things to fear and I've brought them to your doorstep." Marax spoke from within the shell of shadows he had constructed around himself.
Specks of golden light began to break through the shroud into Isaac's view as Marax spoke. A slow swish sound came in regular intervals but Isaac could see nothing that he could discern as the origin.
The Golden lights dripped onto the floor like water in tubes dribbling its way towards Isaac, Marax pulled his attention away from the Golden liquid seeping towards him.
"I don't know how but something happened to the world to allow this to happen and we must use it, if you are here then it means-" Marax stopped suddenly as pain from his wound sapped his magic.
The shadows concealing Marax fled leaving him exposed in the dim light of the room, his sickly grimace was laid bare for Isaac to see as was his dragon-like face that was squashed back leaving his snout only just further out that a normal humans nose.
His uncountable razor teeth where constantly licked by his lizard tongue but two things grabbed Isaac's shocked attention, it wasn't his compacted dragon features nor his ivory spikes that adorned his back and brow nor was it the green scaly skin and golden eyes that oozed light.
The two things that gripped his eyes was the pulsating right arm that was concealed neatly under the dark stained cloth of his coat. And the origin of the swishing sound that was only just above the ground swiping away at the air spraying the floor with black bubbling blood was the demons tail that ended in a rather untimely stump.
Ivory spikes juttered out of his spine as if they had freshly torn the skin to be free, Isaac stared mouth open in horror as he looked upon Marax's form.
Isaac didn't start screaming although he tried his mouth was dry and his body trembled in fear, Isaac didn't care that Marax's expression, grotesque as it may have been, was puzzled, too in grossed in his fear was he that he didn't even notice that the golden rivers had flowed almost within touching distance to him.
"Find the Ay'Thira" Marax uttered painfully.
The golden liquid latched itself to Isaac, connecting the two. Isaac opened his mouth in a scream of pain as his body was ravaged by the power inside Marax, beneath the pain Isaac felt something break within himself, as if something had been freed from a cage.
