"we're gonna start a riot tonight "

"i have your letter here sweetheart, shall we make a trip to diagon alley?"
i gave my mother a small nod, completely into eating my breakfast. my mind elsewhere or more specifically, my mind on carson. i shouldn't be dwelling on it but they way he clutched his arm when he left was .. interesting.
"don't think about him sweetheart, i can feel your heart aching." mother rubbed my back and i turned to look at her.
my mothers name was jillian evans and she was very young, 35. she had the most beautiful dark chestnut hair and a tan complexion. unlike me, she was very short and kind. i unfortunately developed a bad temper. actually i have no resemblance to her, none whatsoever. we're completely different people but yet she was still my mother, she just often tells me i have my fathers looks.
the father whom left 11 years ago for another woman.
mother had the ability to feel ones emotions, to see into their heart and to feel what they feel.
"wait why did i just learn of the letter now? school starts in two days." i frowned, "why did you keep it from me mother?"
she tensed under my stare but kept her composure, "what's the big deal anyways?" the dishes clattered together in the sink as she put then in there with slight haste. it was silent, the only sound came from the water running into the sink, but i could hear her breath start to increase.
"just leave it caliber. i could feel the anger and you know how it makes me feel." she murmured softly and stopped the water. i watched her slowly start to wash the dishes, hands flinching from the heat and my anger subsided, replaced with guilt.
"i'm sorry mother." i mumbled, "if its all right with you, i'll go to diagon alley by myself. you shouldn't be going out anyways, you're still sick. just stay home and rest, i'll ask lilly to keep an extra eyebon you." i insisted and just as i hope, lilly our house elf entered the kitchen.
"m-master, please go rest. i'll clean the kitchen."
mother sighed but nodded anyways and turned to face me. i gave her a hopeful look and she reluctantly agreed,
"fine but take your cellphone."
i nodded, even though taking it would be a huge risk.
"carry your ring and your bracelet. just please be careful. harlen has been telling me that its getting more dangerous." she rambled on, worry etched onto her face.
"of course mother, i will leave right away so i shouldn't be long."
___
"thanks fred." i smiled at the ginger as he handed me a bag full of the stuff i purchased. piruvian instant darkness powder, extendable ears, a jar of winds ( which actually was kind of a rip off cause it only caused a little breeze ) and some other useful stuff that might help in adventures.
"no problem cali, come again soon okay? we miss your visits and mum is starting to go mad." he sighed sadly, eyes drifting to the ring on my finger.
"thats a pretty ring cali, did mother get it for you? is that a green emerald?" george popped up beside fred and stared at the ring on my finger.
"its sea green actually and its a family heirloom." i smiled, proud of the lie i came up with that they seem to have bought.
"okay well see you guys during christmas break, write to me often!" i smiled at the twins whim returned heartfelt goodbyes and warm hugs.
"take care caliber." they said in unison as i exited their shop onto empty streets.
scarily empty streets and all i could hear was the sound of flapping wings.
