Elison looked at Sammy as they ventured through the narrow hallways. He was bumped and pushed by careless wanderers and became a little flustered. He let out a scoff and Sammy looked back. "You alright Elison?" Elison looked up and opened his mouth, "Oh, ya, I'm fine." Sammy, feeling awkward, decided to start a conversation. "So Elison, er... hey. Would you mind if I called you Eli for short?" Elison thought for a second then responded. "Not at all, if you don't mind me calling you Sam." Sammy also hesitated to answer but smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I guess that's alright! I have never been called Sam before." The two boys had reached their first class and "Sam" ushered "Eli" into the room. "Looks like we have the same homeroom huh," Eli looked at Sam, shrugging his shoulders sarcasticly. The teacher, Mrs. Bently, stood attention to the two boys. Sam studdered his words a bit, "u-uh Mrs. Bently, this is Eli- I mean, Elison Roben." Mrs. Bently smiled and welcomed "Eli" into the room. "Sammy, why don't you take your seat, and Elison, there is an empty seat behind Sammy." Elison, feeling nervous, awkwardly walked to the seat directly behind Sammy. The bell rang as Sammy turned around to Elison, and let out a small smile and then turned back around. Elison, or Eli, felt strange, but he didn't know why a smile triggered it. He wasn't sure what he was felling. The class began as Mrs. Bently stood in front of the room to begin instruction. "Hi class, today we will be studying." Her words began to fade away as Eli studied Sam. His brown hair falling just below his ears, and reminencing the brown eyes that gazed at him before class. He noticed the black jacket he wore, and the tapping of his foot. All this faded all background noise and he began to think. "His hair is messy, just like mine, and although his eyes are dull, they almost seem to have a bright side. He's not bad looking, pretty attractive guy.." Elison snapped out of his daydream and sat eyes wide facing forward. He shuddered at his thoughts, but knew this was not the first time thoughts of the same sex were present. He tried to knock off all those thoughts, but they always came back, in fact, they never left. The words of the teacher began to fade back into his head. "And as a result, Shakespear created the story we all know today, Romeo and Juliet." Eli slid down in his seat and felt his face getting warm. "Pst." He shot his eyes up to find Sam with his head slightly turned and a paper in hand. Eli quickly snatched the piece of paper from his hand and opened it up. The teacher was rambling on about Shakespear, so she was paying no attention to them. The paper read, "this class sucks and I'm bored, how bout you?" He chuckled to himself at the note and scribbled down a response. "Having an absolute blast." He folded the piece of paper back up, and coughed, notifying Sam that he had the note. Sam reached back in a yawn and grabbed the paper. He unfolded it to find the sarcasm of Eli, and laughed a bit. He wrote down another response, then passed the note back. They kept this up until the bell rang and they left the classroom. Eli saw Sam dart out the door and quickly grabbed his things and went after him. Sam was waiting quietly behind the door, to scare Eli. Eli ran out of the classroom as Sam jumped out and they nearly collided. "Ah! Jesus Sam!" Sam was curled over DYING of laughter as Eli stood frozen. "I had to do something to loosen you up! You're too tense. Hey, I'll see you after class, I'm this way." Eli let out a sigh and released his tensness, "And I guess I'm that way?" Sam nodded and ran to his next class. Eli slowly walked down the hallway, staring at his feet like he was observing every step. Thoughts began to race through his head once more, "we almost collided, and that would have been bad. Injury on my first day of school with the first friend I made. I wonder if I'm going the right way? Maybe, I guess I'll find out." Eli eventually found his class and every other class after that. The school day came to an end a lot sooner that he expected it to. He went to his locker to gather his things, then headed for the entrance of the building. Sam was in the distance, and spotted Eli, running to catch up. He tapped him on the shoulder and asked, "So Eli, how was the first day?" Eli, used to the frequent jumpscares responded gleefully, and happy to see him. "Great! Didn't have too much trouble with finding my classes." "That's good! Now all you have to do get a few friends and I think you'll be good to go! Counting me of course." Eli laughed and scratched the back of his head, "Yeah! Well, I guess I'll see you tommorow? I've gotta walk home." "Yeah, I'll see you tommorow!" Sam waved and Eli waved then they both went on their way. Eli started back on the same path that lead him to the building. He bit his lip in thought of the new "friend" he had made. "I CAN'T like him, I'm not gay... but maybe I am... screw it. Id be gay for him.." Eli this time smiled and shook his head at the thought instead of shuddering, then walked faster to get back home. He soon reached his home driveway, then entered the now box filled house. "Mom I'm home!" He shouted through the house, slamming the door behind him. His mother's voice echoed through the kitchen, as he followed it. "Hi honey! How was your first day?" Eli set down his bag and rested his elbows on the counter top. "It was pretty great! Didn't have much trouble with classes!" Eli's mother turned around and gave him a hug. "That's good, did you make any new friends?" Eli felt his face get red, and an uncontrollable smile creep onto his face. "Yeah, I guess you could say that."
