Chapter 3- I train my-self

FOR FIVE LONG YEARS, Lupa trained me, taught me. She was next best thing to me after my mother. I had chosen to forget my past, knowing it won't ever come back.

I trained, trained and trained.

Lupa told me that I hold the key to the future that I have to be the one others look upto.

Then when I turned 7.

Lupa said Its time you go...

I got ready to leave and looked back once more to the place where I had spent the last 5 years. Part of me still wanted to be normal but that wasn't an option now.

But then I got attacked...zzzz...

I saw Thalia running with a boy, a little older than her with some sort of figures reaching them. I tried to reach them but instead woke up with a toothbrush in hand (Lupa has high concern for dental hygiene). My head was still feeling a little shaky but I got up.

I was lying on a bed while a boy about 12 years old was bandaging my hand, I was not wearing my T-shirt and I felt like my back was also bandaged.

I said "Tell me I am wearing my pants."

He said "Don't worry."

I was relieved.

I said "What happened?"

He said "First things first. You should rest."

I didn't want to argue; I just closed my eyes and blacked out. Dreams incoming.

Lupa said "All the monsters were after that kid."

The boy said "Why were they only after one kid?"

The girl said "Is he the one?"

The boy said "No, it can't be."

The girl said "His name is like one."

Lupa said "You both can give thought to that later. First you both should go and check his health."

After lots of dreams I decided to just stay awake for a while. And just then the boy and girl from my dream came to check on me (awkward?).

The boy said "You okay?"

I said "I'm fine. How did I get here?"

The boy said "Lupa delivered you personally. My name is Ashley."

The girl said "And my name is Alexis."

I said "Where am I?"

Ashley said "You're at Camp Jupiter."

Alexis said "Can you walk?"

I said "Guess so."

She said "Then come with me. I am going to show you around."

I said "Ok."

Lupa had already filled me on the details

Ashley helped me get up. We went out of the room, and into the mess hall (Which I found out by the mess there).

Ashley said "Everyone on their positions."

In 5 seconds all the mess was clear and everybody stood straight.

Ashley said "We have a new recruit here."

Alexis said "Who will like to volunteer?"

Everybody was in silence.

Alexis said "Come on, anyone?"

A guy, the same guy who had bandaged my hand and back, came forward from the same group.

Ashley said "That's the spirit, Mark."

Alexis said "Jason, you are in the fifth cohort now. Go to your place."

While I was going to the fifth cohort, I heard some whispers like "He is so unlucky...", "Joining the losers..."

The group welcomed me and I shook hands with everyone.

Mark said smiling "My name is Mark Stone. Your name's Jason, right?"

I said "Yep. Jason Grace."

He said "How's your back?"

I said "Umm... yeah its fine. Thanks for your help."

Mark said "It was nothing. I had to just clean the cut, do some stiches an stuff-"

Ashley said "Everybody, attention."

Everybody got into position including me, though I don't know whether that was my position or not, but nobody complained so..

Alexis said "Now you can have your lunch."

Everybody tackled the tables, except me and Mark.

Mark said "What are you waiting for? ATTACK!"

Mark charged and after a few moments I followed.

Mark said "Jason, come sit here."

I said "What are they serving?"

Mark said "Whatever you want?"

I said "Really?"

Mark said "Yep."

Something moving like a wind closed on us and served us our food and gods I got my favorite- Pizza with extra cheese and olives. Yeah sometimes Lupa used to order those for me. Nah! Just kidding, I used to get out sometimes...

I said "What are those things? Lares?"

Mark said "Those are the wind spirits."

I said "I haven't seen any of 'em serve pizza before."

I didn't know how hungry I had been. It felt like I hadn't eaten for days (how long was i out?). I finished the whole pizza and then came the desert- chocolate brownies. YUM.
