Grr...here comes the snob

I stare, open mouthed, at my near reflection. Same blue eyes, same hair. I can barely believe it.

"Are you two related or something?" Lucy chuckles. "'Cause you look like twins. Except Shira's like taller. When you get taller, Orchid, I'll barely be able to know who you are."

Lucy probably intended that as a joke, but it hurts. Inside of me, I secretly start building a deep hate for the woman who stands next to me. She steals my dream future from me, my looks, and my being admired. Now my destiny is dictated by her little existence. And Lycaeon's. I wanted a nice future. Now I have a future with Lycaeon's faithful servants trying to kill me. Very nice. As if.

"That's not funny," I snap at her.

Lucy rolls her eyes. "The important queen said that it's not. So it's not. But why do I find it funny?"

"Just stop." My sister defends me.

Shira recoils at the sight of Arya. "Forgive me. But you look exactly like my sister. Lycaeon."

Arya blinks. "Excuse me? Are you insulting my looks?"

"No, just...." Shira breaks off. "Never mind." Still, I get a bad feeling about this. It reminds me of Mr. Burke's lecture over and over again. History repeats itself.

"So, where's Jenna and Lily?" My gaze goes around the room suspiciously.

Jenna and Lily emerge arm in arm from an adjacent room. "Here, of course," Jenna says, waving her square-tipped nails in the air(like an utter snob).  I look away in disgust, but Jenna just walks up to me and caresses my hair like she's fond of me. Usually, I would've ignored it. But the rage boiling in me forces my hand to block hers and pin it to the couch. Jenna appears stunned before she curls her lips and growls, then retreats to where Lily stands.

"We're pulled together in an urgent meeting," Shira explains. "All of you here are elementalists, which is dangerous considering the circumstances. Lately, my sister has broken the orb that keeps the peace and assaulted our side. After I went to search for you, Orchid, my sister smashed the Orb equally in half so now, we can live without the other. I sent one of Tsukune's warriors, not the spirit elementalist Warrior, to help."

 "Amphitrite, right?" I ask.

"Yeah. She's not here anymore. Tsukune pulled her back into safety."

"But the serious and very dangerous thing here is that our side of the Orb is missing, and possibly broken in several pieces. Xander was sent to Earth to kill you elementalists and find the yang side of the Orb so we would lose. But for now, I don't think so. So, Orchid, you will have to be accompanied with two elementalists to find it. I believe it landed in the main office of Thalia Crestwood High School."

Lucy groans. "They'll have the site under yellow police tape. We'll never be able to get in."

"You mean the normal human can't go in," Aly says briskly and sharply. "If we scorch the officers, wash away the tape, and use air to bring the piece to us, then we can get the yang side."

"Then why waste a freaking trip to Earth again when little-Mr.Trigger-Happy trot is around?" Jenna sticks her nose up in the air.

"Because it would kill you," Shira answers simply. "The more distance between your target and you requires more energy. If you use more energy than your body has, you'll die."

"Oh well. Y'know, people don't know everything. You win some, lose some. Life is like a box of chocolates. You don't know what to expect," Zetah quotes, a tiny smile spreading on her face.
