Ryan's POV:

A supper was held outside tha church courtesy of Betty's Cafe n Grill. Everyone gathered for food like wild fire, some consoling Cassidy an Blake. Tellin Cassidy her song was beautiful an how they remembered Beth for her songs too. Although it was waring on Cassidy an I could tell, I took her some food an a drink of punch.

She took it from me with a meek smile, an I looked around, putting my arm around her an lead her away from tha crowds ta the front of tha church. Walked her across ta my truck an put tha tailgate down, looked her up and down. "Hold on," I said.

I walked to tha door opened it an grabbed a blanket out. Walkin back an laid it on tha tailgate folded. Then I gripped her an lifted her up on tha blanket to sit. I sat down an I put my arm round her again, "thank you huuu," she said an took a bite of tha chicken.

"Figured ya needed a break away," I said

"Mmm, I did," she said smiling at me.

I nodded an stole a pice of tha crispy stuff from tha chicken she held. "Hmhm, heyyheyyyyy," she giggled pushin me with her shoulder.

"Its better when it tastes like you," I said smirkin.

"Hm," she grunted taking another bite.

I sat silently watchin her eat, its more than she's eaten since Beth passed away an she was loosin weight. I didn't like it but I didn't wanna push her too hard on it. It was good ta see her eatin, maybe just saying good bye was enough.

We both heard heated arguing an looked over ta see Blake an Leanne her parents just down tha street from tha church. Suddenly she slapped Blake hard an he backed away from her. That's when Cassidy took off from tha tailgate."Ssssshit," I huffed chasing after her.

Leanne took after Blake again hitting him an Cassidy shoved her makin her stumble. "You get yer hands off my daddy," she growled.

"Don't you dare talk ta me like that," Leanne uttered back low.

"I'll talk ta ya any way I want y'all been a bitch ta me an I'm tired of it," Cassidy let out.

They stood glaring at each other. Blake holdin back Cassidy an I got in front of her too. "Cassidy enough, stop, yer mom an I, were uh, were gettin a divorce," Blake said.

Cassidy's eyes widened an she stopped turnin away from tha both of them. Backin against me as she shivered my hands on her hips. Her one hand ran up her other arm, "huuuu, what," she breathed out finally.

"It's yer fault we been fightin, if y'all woulda behaved like yer supposed ta this wouldn't have happened," Leanne growled in accusing tone.

Cassidy moved away from me an wound up slapping her across tha face, she turned an stomped off to tha truck. As I looked over at a tearing Leanne, I frowned "this ain't her fault an y'all know it, yer tha one ta blame, not her fault yer a bitch," I started sayin.

"Who tha hell do you think you are boy," she growled.

"Hm, who am I," i shook my head.

"I'm tha Man that loves yer daughter, who cares about her, ya know, I can see why she's not like you, it's cause the woman who passed away had more ta do with her than you, an I thank god fer that, I don't know how Blake bless his soul put up with ya fer so long, cause I probably woulda divorced yer ass long time ago," I growled.
