My heart started to beat uncontrollably.
I stared at Ash in disgust.
'What could possibly be wrong with that boy? Grr... If I could I'd kick him in his bloody balls and make sure he suffers excruciating pain'
Ash titled his head quizzically, observing me...
"You know I can read your mind, right?"
I nodded, glaring at him.
'If you can hear my thoughts, I guess you will be able to hear this also; I think your a bastard and I hate you.'
He smiled casually. "The feelings mutual."
'Ryder will come and help me.'
He chuckled "Hmm..sure, I highly doubt that."
'Why?'
" Ryder and I are like brothers, we've known each other for a long time, he'd know not to get involved in all this."
'Can you take the gag off?'
"Are you going to cooperate?"
I nodded slowly...
Carefully Ash removed the rope from my mouth.
"Can we be friends?" I said softly. "I'd rather not be your enemy."
"Humph...whatever." Abruptly Ash stood and walked away without a backward glance.
I sighed dramatically. "Seriously? Couldn't you at least have untied the rest of me?" I called to him.
'What the hell is taking Ryder so long? He said he'd be a few minutes and it'd been ages.'
Ironically, Ryder strolled into the room looking around.
When his eyes met mine, he stopped suddenly, watching me...
"Are you going to help me or just stand there staring at me?"
He blinked, slowly registering what I said. Then he burst out with laughter.
Humiliation slithered through my blood stream.
"This isn't funny Ryder, Help me!"
Slowly, he walked towards me in a state of bewilderment.
"Ha ha, I knew Ash was capable of doing some crazy stuff but...this is a whole new level."
"Well, actually we are 'friends' now.."
"Friends? Ash doesn't really have 'friends'."
"Well, he said that you two were like brothers?"
"Seriously? Ash actually said that?"
"Errr..yeah! Why wouldn't he say that?"
"Ash, just doesn't really express his feelings or admits much, he just goes around barely being seen or heard, a lot of people probably don't even realize his existence but he prefers it that way, it's just nice he'd say that about us."
"Wow..that is interesting, but are you going to untie me or just tell me Ash's life story?"
"Aha, someone seems annoyed?"
"Just untie me Ryder, I'm just not in the mood."
"Alright...sorry."
Quickly he started untying the knots.
"Phoebe, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you, I just didn't know Ash would do that to you."
"So, you knew he was going to do something to me?"
