It seemed like it all went in slow motion. I looked into Billy's eyes, slowly backing away.
"What's wrong," Billy asked with concern in his voice.
I didn't say anything as everything seemed to speed up again, I quickly opened the bedroom door, and ran down the stairs as Billy ran and yelled after me. I ran to the front door, quickly pulled it open, and felt a scream escape my mouth as the mask was right in front of my eyes. The mask was pulled down to reveal a police officer, "we found this outside of your house, your neighbors called us after they heard you screaming."
"He's upstairs," I said without thinking.
Two police officers rushed upstairs, pulled Billy outside and pinned him against a police car. They put cuffs around Billy's wrists, and pushed him into a police car. Before the car pulled away, I could hear Billy calling my name, but I was to Shocked to say anything. The police officer that I first saw at my front door walked over to me and said, "can you come with me down to the police station for questioning mis?"
"Um.... ok," was all I could say as I found my voice again. As soon as we got into the police car, I felt the tears spilling down my face. I new the officer was watching me, but I didn't care. I cared about Billy, and I didn't know what I would do if he was really the masked person who had tried to kill me.
