Darkpaw limped through the darkness. Twolegplace lit up in the night like a blaze in the darkness of the forest. The kittypet she had run into during her travel had given her hope for her new life. But Darkpaw felt no hope for herself nor did she have any feelings except for hate, betrayal, and bloodlust. Her heart ached more and more as she thought about ShadowClan and leaving all her loyalty behind. But she almost killed someone. Her eyes blazed in anger as she thought of Oakpaw.
I should've killed him when I had the chance. Darkpaw thought to herself. Memories of what he had done to her a few days before weakened her and made her wounds ache worse than they already had.
"Ughhh.." She moaned as the long deep gash from the monster rubbed up against the long grass bordering the forest from the large twoleg nests. she talked along the side of the thunderpath, making sure there were no more monsters passing by before she sprinted to the other side, trying to fight the pain of her wounds. they stung like a thousand nettles burrowing into your flesh. She screamed as her wounds burned like the depths of the Dark Forest.
Darkpaw made her way into an alleyway and slowed her pace. She sniffed at the air. It smelled of twolegs, rogues, dogs, and twoleg rubbish. "ugh disgusting!" she hissed as she pawed a piece of rubbish out of her way, then shaking her paw with disgust.
"you'll get used to it after a while.." A voiced sneered at the dark end of the alley. Darkpaw widened her eyes as a cat jumped down from a dumpster and walked over to her. It was a shecat about Tallpoppy's age. She had a mangled purple collar with a blue diamond shaped charm on it. her fur was a smooth creamy color with faded light brown stripes. her white paws showed long, sharp claws ready to sink into her flesh. Instead, the shecat sheath her claws and sat down a tail length in front of Darkpaw.
"What is a forest cat like you doing out this far in twolegplace?" The rogue asked Darkpaw.
"I...I.." She stammered. The shecat looked into Darkpaw's dull, clouded amber eyes. She stalked around Darkpaw examining all her wounds and scratches. "What happened to you dear? Were you attacked by another cat? What a heartless soul would do something to such a sweet little kit like you." She murmured as the shecat whisked her tail under Darkpaw's chin.
"I'm' Not a kit! I'm 12 moons old to be exact." she spat at the shecat, pulling her head away from the cream colored tabby. "I got these wounds from one of my clanmates. We got in a fight and I ran into the bushes. I swore never to go back. Then, I was hit by a monster as I was crossing the thunderpath. I wasn't paying attention to what was ahead of me. I was too upset to think." Darkpaw sighed and tucked her paws under her chest. The shecat continued to look at her and nodded. "I see." she said calmly. "Let me patch up those wounds for you dear." She purred as she beckoned Darkpaw with her fluffy creamy white tail.
Darkpaw walked forward, following behind the shecat. She looked around at the gray and shadowy walls of the twoleg nests surrounding her. The shecat jumped up onto a strange, brown, tower and pulled something from it. It was a bumdle of herbs and all different kinds! Tansy, yarrow, feverfew, marigold, poultices, poppy seeds, catmint, and cobwebs. Darkpaw's eyes lit up as she saw hope. This cat was going to help her! "Thank you, but this isn't needed I think I'll be-" The shecat cut her off. No, dear. you need help. Look at you. You're covered in blood and wounds from head to tail. She told Darkpaw to sit down as she began to rub Poultices and ointments on Darkpaw's cuts and scratches. It stung horribly at first but she soon got used to the feeling of the seering pain (oh noes she likes the feeling of pain :O) all over her small body.
"I do believe we never learned each other's names have we, dear? " She asked Darkpaw. Darkpaw shook her head. "Well, I guess I'll start. M name is Tess. I used to be a BloodClan cat." Darkpaw flinched at the name. Tess must've noticed because she looked back down at Darkpaw and gave her a curious look. "What is it, dear? Are you afraid of an old BloodClan cat like me?" She snickered. Tess's eyes widened as she realized who she was talking to. "You- you're that traitors daughter, aren't you?" Darkpaw looked at the ground in shame. "You can kill me if you want. I don't deserve to live on this world anyways." Darkpaw Murmured. Tess gave a sigh. "The past is the past, little one. I'm actually glad Scourge and all of BloodClan were destroyed by you forest cats." She gave a slight chuckle. "Well, what's your name, dear?" Tess asked nicely. "My name is Darkpaw. She said it practically in a whisper. Tess nodded. "Ah, yes. I remember you now. You came with your father and Boulder to the preposition two moons before his death. Well, It's finally nice to see a familiar face for the first time in several moons." Darkpaw gave a slight smile and Tess smiled back. "Well, your all patched up. Don't try to move for the rest of the night. Darkpaw lay down on a small cushion placed against the wall of a twoleg nest. "Here ,little one. You must be exhausted." She said in a motherly tone as she pawed two poppy seeds in front of Darkpaw. She gulped down the seeds and lay her head on the cushion she was upon. Tess Lay down on a cushion next to her.
"Sweet dreams, Darkpaw ." She murmured as she licked the top of Darkpaw's head, gingerly. Darkpaw closed her eyes and fell into darkness.
