Lullaby

Holy crap I'm so scared right now.

We're babysitting my baby nephew right now, he's about two and a half months, and he was asleep and my dogs were in the hallway. Our really big dog, Sam, all of a sudden woke up and started barking loudly. I didn't know what he was barking at, but it was waking up the baby. We kept telling him to stop barking, but he wouldn't. If he's barking and we gently tell him "it's ok. It's ok." he always quiets down and stop. But it didn't work this time. Nothing worked. We tried everything to get him to stop but he just kept barking sou loudly, then I realized he was barking at something.

I turned around, thinking something or someone must be behind me due to the direction he was facing, but there was nothing there and he kept barking. Finally, his barking woke up the baby and he started crying. He's sleeping right in front of me so I was about to go to console him when suddenly I heard a woman humming. It kind of sounded like Silent Night but like the woman was repeating the "siileeent night" part over and over again. And I realized Sam wasn't barking at something BEHIND me he was barking at something in FRONT of me, in front of the baby. The strange humming continued and the baby slowly quieted and stopped crying. I checked my phone to make sure it wasn't playing anything, I turned off the TV, still I heard the humming. The only other person in my apartment was my dad. When the baby fell asleep, Sam suddenly stopped barking and whined as he stood up. He walked over to us and shoved his head into the little bed where my nephew is sleeping, checking on him. Then he looked at me and I beckoned him over. He put his head against my hand, looking at the baby and whining.
