Chapter Eight - Gone

Mat's POV

~ My eyes flutter open to reveal that I'm alone. I sit up and look around the room.

Rob's gone.

On top of the desk is a note.

'Goodbye Mat, I love you and I miss you. I'm sorry.' it says in neat hand-writing. Tears drop and soak the tiny piece of paper. I curl up in a ball, clutching my sides.

Rob is gone. He left me.

Violent shivers roll down my spine and I scream into my pillow. How could I be alone again? I felt so pathetic crying over him.

~ It's been a month since Rob left. I hardly get any phone calls and when I do, they're from Preston. He always checks up on me. I don't upload videos anymore on my channel.

"Up you go." Preston grunted as he pulled me out of my bed.

"You're a mess, Mat." He mumbles. "You need you get on with your life." He says gently.

"Rob was my life." I mumble quietly and start crying. Preston hugs me and I cry into his chest. I felt kind of nice; not because it was Preston but because I haven't been close like this with anyone in awhile.

"I have to go." Preston says and starts to stand up. I grab his arm and push him back down on the bed.

"Please don't l-leave me." I plead.

"Okay." Preston whispers. I don't know why but Preston looks...cute? I touch his chin and lean towards him.

"Mat-" he starts to protest but my lips meet his. They're soft but nothing compared to Rob's-oh shit! I quickly pull away and tears fill in my eyes.

"N-n-no! it's okay, don't worry." Preston says trying to calm me down. I shake my head.

"He cheated on you once, and it was much worse, he has to forgive you." Preston says, patting my back.

"Call him." Preston whispers and leaves the room. I take a deep breath and call Rob. After a few rings he picks up.

"Oh, hey." He answered, his voice sincere.

"I have to tell you something." I said, my voice breaking.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I kissed Preston-I'm so sorry." I mumble and break down. He sighs and doesn't answer for awhile.

"Please say something." I whisper.

"I don't know what to say, you cheated on me." His voice raising a bit. I was so stunned by his words.

"Are you kidding? You were the one who slept with Preston!" I yelled and my voice broke.

"I don't think I can do this anymore." Rob mumbled.

"Fine." I said, with no emotion, so quietly I was afraid he might of not heard me. He hung up and my heart sank. I had no tears left. It was like my heart perished. The empty, hollow area where my heart should be, remains silent.
