Some Party

"Alright then." Stepping out in the hallway you could still hear the drums and feel the vibrations from all the jumping the people were doing. We were going to continue walking when we say the shadows of two people coming towards us. They stopped short and began doing whatever, I raised my eyebrows in surprise as the shadows were merging into one. Doc shook his head smirking, turning to walk the other way I heard a familiar voice.

"Oh Lilith." The voice said in a panting breath.

"I've missed you so much Tank."

"Tank?" No, maybe I heard wrong. No, I'm sure I heard wrong. There's no way that was Tank. Right? Before Doc could stop me I walked to the two shadows. Horror, surprise, hate, anger, pain shot through me.

"... Tank?" Both heads turned towards me in shock and surprise. Tank separated himself from the girl and opened his mouth, but nothing came out. Tears began streaming down my cheeks, I turned and ran past Doc.

"Y/n! Wait, come back!" Tank called, I continued to run and ran into a random hallway but it was a dead end.

"Dammit." Turning around I was facing a wide eyed frantic Tank. I wiped my tears away and starting walking past him.

"Y/n, please, let me explain." He touched my arm which I pulled back from him.

"Explain what?! You think I care about what you do? You think I care that you're leading me on, and getting in your feelings because of what Cypher did? When you have a GIRLFRIEND?! Huh?! You have some nerve, Tank. To think, I was actually falling for you." He avoided eye contact and I began to walk away.

"Y/n-" He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him, without thinking I pulled my free hand back, curled it into a fist and punched him with such force that he was now staring at the wall surprised at what just happened.

"Don't you ever-EVER- touch me again!" Turning around I saw Doc and the rest of the Neb's crew standing in utter shock, which turned into anger and disappointment geared at Tank. Trinity and Doc walked with me to the infirmary to make sure I was okay.

After what seemed hours Doc broke the silence in the room.

"Well I know who I'm not messing with in the future." Trinity glared at him and his smile left just as fast as it came.

"Sorry I did that." I looked at my hand as Doc finished bandaging it.

"For what? All I saw was a young girl defending herself," Trinity lifted up my chin, "and she did a damn good job too."

I smiled slightly and looked back at my hand. "Good thing Niobe is going to teach me, because that really hurt. What's his face made out of, metal?" We both chuckled.

"Good news is you don't actually have to learn out here, you'll learn in the matrix. Bad news is, I don't want you going in. Don't give me that look, I'm a doctor remember? Let your hand heal for a few days then come back and we'll see if you'll be good." I pouted at what he said.

"But it's just computers right? It can't be that bad." Trinity shook her head.

"What happens in the matrix is very real. Your body and mind are connected and what you feel in there, your body feels out here. Your brain can't take the reality away from it, which is why you'll train. Think of your training as a video game tutorial, after you complete the learning stages you'll go onto the real thing."

"Yes, but you're leaving this one very important detail out," Doc's face was stoic as he spoke, "if you die in the matrix, you die out here too."

Before I could say anything Dozer walked into the infirmary.

"Y/N, I am so sorry. Had I known that idiot was going -"

"Dozer, I don't have a problem with you, but do me a huge favor." He closed his mouth waiting for me to continue, "If he ever personally tries to come see me or talk to me, you won't have to worry about hurting him, because there wouldn't be anything left to hurt."

My eyes flashed with anger and hate at the thought of him! Everyone took a step back as the air began to get heavy. Dozer barely nodded his head and left the infirmary walking backwards, never leaving my gaze, he was too scared. Doc lightly touched my arm and I switched my gaze to him.

"As your doctor I suggest you relax," he began to lightly rub my wrist, I flinched at the feeling, "stress and tension in your body goes all over, if you want your hand to heal quickly. You need to go home and rest now. I'll see you later."

"I'll walk you." Trinity held her hand out and we walked to the elevator.

The walk was quite which is something I was very grateful for. We reached the elevator and made our ascension, reaching level 20 we walked on the bridge, up the stairs and stopped in front of my new home.

"Ma told me to tell her how my first party went. Some party." I laughed breathlessly.

"Well, it'll be one hell of a story." I turned to Trinity and hugged her.

She was taken off guard, her body was stuff and rigid, but she soon relaxed and hugged me back; that's when I cried. She held me closer and told me everyone was going to be all right.

"How!? I just saw my boy- the guy I lo- like. LIKED!... Uuuggghhhh!!! I can't even think straight!!! Why!? Why?! Why did I have to leave home?!" The tears rolled down my face.

We stayed there until I claimed down, which took about 10 minutes, I thought it was longer but Trinity counted. She wiped my face with the end of her shirt and made sure I was presentable.

"If you want you can stay with me tonight." I shook my head.

"No, I'll go in, I'll be fine. I promise." I opened the door and the world seemed to go in slow motion, Trinity was saying something about the people that lived here but I wasn't paying attention, how could I? My feet seemed to move by themselves, I made my way to the body seated on the couch, the face turned towards me, fear etched in their eyes. I grabbed the closest thing to me, a piece of glass. The person dropped their cup as soon as I entered, it hit the floor shattering it into pieces, just as they were going to be. In pieces. I drove the glass towards their face, but I felt a sharp pain on the back of my neck. Then everything went black.
