Chapter 26- Summer

"Yea, I have been great. How are you guys?" I asked as I was talking to my mum and Marie on the phone. From what I have been told, Marie dropped off my early Christmas gifts at my house and I called as soon as she got there. "I'm doing great, Summer. I miss you." They both said simultaneously, which made me laugh and smile. "I miss you guys too. I know my break is coming up soon so I might be able to visit then." I replied with a smile on my face. "Otherwise, it's late here Summer, we have to go." My mum said. "I forgot about the time change. I love you both. Bye." I said before I hung up the phone.

I started college today, which was a huge step for me. I knew that I was going to college eventually, but I didn't know it was going to be so soon. Time flies so I have to use my time up wisely. Luckily, I haven't missed anything because it was everyone's first day so I met my professors and received the syllabus for each class. It was confusing getting around at the college, but another student helped me out. Her name was Alexis, but everyone calls her Lexi. She has green eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights. She was really friendly and helped me out. She was a sophomore and she had some of the classes that I am in including Philosophy. It's now 1 AM and I stayed up doing all of my assignments so I would be ready for anything.

I wake up and I thought I would dream of Harry, but the dream was a reenactment of Divergent. I need to see the movie soon because I am so excited to see the movie starring Shailene and Theo. Shailene would be great as Tris even though I didn't imagine Shailene as Tris as I read the book. I have been dying to see the movie since I found out that it was going to be a movie a few months ago.

I groaned because I didn't want to have another long day of classes, but I got up anyway. I took a shower and I ended singing to a tune that I heard on the radio yesterday. I look in the mirror and realized something had changed. Right off the bat I notice my silly smile off of my face and when I try, I end up laughing and smiling more than before. My eyes are brighter and have a twinkle more than they used to. My cheeks are pink and my face looks more alive, young, and awake. With the smile on my face, it shows my small dimples that are barely noticeable. I like the changes and I look like a new Summer. A new Summer with a new slate. Maybe things are finally changing for the better and I could be happy for a while now. Of course, it was all because of Harry. Hopefully, everything can work out in my favor for a while.

I drove to school humming to the songs on the radio which are incredibly appealing to my ears. I am still getting used to hear newer songs, but I am starting to get used to it. When I turned into college, I hear my mobile ring. I ignore it because I was near the school by the time I could answer. It was not a phone call; it was a text from Harry.

To Harry <3: Skype? 6 PM tonight at your time? Hope to see you then. xoxo –Harry

Another illustrious smile appeared on my face as I stared at the message on the bright screen. I replied to the message and then got out of my tiny car and headed to class with my computer and the assignments. This is going to be a long day. I can't wait until 6 tonight to see Harry even though it has been 1 day since he left.

I get home and all the work that I did last night covered me for today too, so I have a bit of time to relax. It is 4 right now and the drive didn't as long as yesterday to get home from school. There was traffic and I got done at 3. I started to prepare something to eat before my father walked into the door. "Hey munchkin, what are you up to?" He asks me as he ruffles my hair before I fix it. "I was going to make some food. Do you want anything?" I asked as I looked in the fridge. There was not much to eat in the fridge, just some red licorice, milk, and some leftovers that are a few days old. "Since Katie took the week off, how about I pick something at Nando's because I have to run by the studio anyway. I will be back in fifteen minutes." He said and I nodded.
