Roadtrip

 

It was a really boring afternoon, Subaru didn't have much to do today. His work at the mansion was being taken care of by Rem and Ram, they both insisted he have a day off since he was working so hard. Of course, he didn't mind the whole 'day off' thing, it was just that, now that he thought about it, he didn't have much to do outside of cleaning and meal preps!

"Subaru!" Someone called out to him.

"Hm?" Oh, it was Puck. Subaru wondered what he wanted.

"Hey Subaru! What's up! You don't seem very spunky today."

"Not spunky? Well, honestly I'm just bored." Subaru shrugged.

"Why not hang out with your friends?"

"Friends? Who? Rem and Ram? Emilia?"

"No! You claimed to be a knight, correct? Why not hang out with your fellow knights then?" Puck winked.

Subaru cringed at the thought of hanging around them after making a scene like he did. He almost felt ashamed. Not to mention Julius might try something again.

"Go on! I'm sure they'll be happy to see you!"

With a sigh, Subaru dragged his feet towards his car, got in and moped the entire way to Reinhard's.

He hoped Reinhard would at least be happy to see him.

"I could have been hanging out with Emilia! Ah, her sweet smile! It would have been a lovely day to roam the village, maybe get some ice cream." He trailed off in his mind, gushing over his precious Emilia-tan. A few minutes passed, he got out of his car and knocked on Reinhard's door.

"Please don't be home." He crossed his fingers.

A couple seconds went by, and it seemed as though Subaru's wish was coming through when-

"Ah! Subaru! It's nice to see you! Come in!" Reinhard greeted him with a big smile and motioned Subaru into his house.

Reluctantly, Subaru almost slumped over, but made his way into the tall redhead's house. It was pretty clean, well organized, nothing like Subaru's room...

"So, what brings you here?"

"Um. Well... I was pretty bored. Puck told me you'd maybe be free today so..." His voice trailed off. He was really regretting listening to Puck.

"Oh! I see, work must be slow for you today!" Then Reinhard clapped his hands together, seemingly excited about something "I was actually going to go on a roadtrip with Julius today! I'll let him know you're joining!" Reinhard rushed to his phone before Subaru could even react. Fantastic, out of any of the knights, it had to be the dude with an attitude problem. This day had gone from boring to terrible within minutes and Subaru wished he had just napped the day away.

"Great! You can pick us up in ten minutes! See you then!" Reinhard just got off the phone and smiled at Subaru. "This is going to be so fun! Three friends going on a roadtrip!"

"Listen, Reinhard, I appreciate it but-" Subaru was cut off.

"Since it's so warm we'll go to the beach! Oh! You need swimwear! I'll see if I have anything extra!" Reinhard practically flew out of his seat to search for some swimming trunks that would fit the smaller boy.
