"Ok I have the popcorn, chips, sweets, drinks, blankets, pillows... what else?"

"A good movie?"

John turned around to see (Y/N) holding up a pile of movies he assumed were chick flicks. He nodded excitedly and held his arms wide open.

"Yes (Y/N)! Perfect. Now everything is perfect!"

(Y/N) smiled as she reached down for one of he small bags of chips. She opened it and began to snack on it as she watched her roommate scammer about trying to make everything perfect.

"I have never seen you like this dude." She swallowed what was in her mouth and began to pick at her teeth. "This girl must be some kind of super model or some crap. If that's the case you got the wrong kind of snacks." She chuckled as she took a seat in the recliner char they had in their living room.

John groan jokingly as he shifted his weight by the window. "You have no idea (Y/N)." He smiled as he saw a car come down the street. But it passed.

"What time is she supposed to be here? It's already like 8:30 or some shit." By that time (Y/N) had finished the bag of chips, threw it away, got the big bag from their cabinets and finished what was left of that. She raised a eyebrow at John while he stood at the window, as hopeful as a kid on Christmas.

"She's gonna come. She said she would." Was all he said.

(Y/N) nodded as she waited. And waited. And waited. She promised to leave to her room as soon as johns date had pulled up. But so far, nothing.

John pulled out his phone and simply held it. "What if she is hurt? What if she got stuck somewhere and her phone is off? What if-"

"John!"

He looked over at his roommate. He watched as she shook her head. It was 11:30. Not a time for watching movies at home with a date kind of time. John looked down. Obviously distraught. (Y/N) stood up and grabbed his hand as she pulled him to the couch where they both sat for another 10 minuets. (Y/N) leaned over and gave him a hug.

"I'm sorry your date night was ruined. But hey. It's her loss. Not yours. No matter how good she looks or how great she acted, you were saved from whatever person she would have been."

John sniffled as they pulled away. He nodded. "Thanks (Y/N), love you."

"Love you to John."

Being stood up is never fun. But at least he had his best friend there with him.
