he woke up to a bright light shining down on him. blinking, he realised he was on a white bed. he slowly got up and adjusted his focus. he saw his mom waking up from a chair beside him and realised he was in a hospital.
right, he was supposed to find her.
how did he end up here?
"you're awake!" the sound of his mom brought him back to reality.
"what did you think you were doing? you almost got into a car accident.. hiroko found you on the road and dragged you away. you passed out after that. you must've been shocked, poor thing..." she said caressing his hair as tears formed in her eyes.
"sorry... i- i just wanted to see her again. mom... i missed her."
she gently held my hand and replied, "i know, taehyungie. i miss her too. but we got separated from their family. i guess that's destiny. we have to move on in the end, i'm sorry..."
taehyungie. that was what she would call him sometimes. his heart ached.
"taehyung, promise me you won't do this again? sometimes, you just have to let go of the ones you treasure and love. i'm sure she has moved on by now..."
moved on...? he was scared, scared that she had forgotten him.
pushing his frustrating thoughts aside, he apologized and looked down, playing with the sheets of the bed.
the door opened, and his classmate, hiroko appeared.
"oh, hello hiroko! ill leave you two alone then," his mom exclaimed, leaving the room.
"are you okay...?"
"yeah i'm fine thank you,"
"i was really worried when you passed out. are you stressed out lately or something? having a listening ear helps."
he shook his head.
"i'm good. thank you for helping me. can't imagine where i'll be now if you didn't push me away," he laughed bitterly.
"well... okay then. i'll leave you so that you can rest well. take care," hiroko said leaving.
after she left, he laid back again on the bed. his head was buried with thoughts, thoughts, thoughts. when will i ever see you again?
