a few months later
"taehyung?"
he turned his view from the window and saw hiroko standing in front of him, holding her textbooks.
"class is already dismissed, what're you waiting for?"
finally back to his senses, he realised that the classroom was already empty. he started packing his bags and left the classroom with hiroko.
"are you going home too?" he asked, looking straight at the corridors of the hallway.
"yea, let's go home together again!"
they arrived at the area where they had both parked their bikes, and started cycling out the school.
stopping halfway at a convenience store, they went in to get some refreshments.
"chocolate milk again?" she asked and taehyung chuckled along with her.
"chocolate milk."
after both of them had paid, they continued their journey.
out of the blue, taehyung spoke, "hey, want to go to the park? i want to see the sunset."
"sure, i hadn't seen one in ages," she agreed.
they arrived at the park, parking their bikes. they went to sit down on the big and empty grass field.
"taehyung?"
"mm?"
she turned to look at him and realised he had closed his eyes, enjoying the cool breeze of the wind.
"i... have been curious about something... and i would like to ask you," she stated nervously.
"sure, shoot."
"i have always seen you writing letters in class, who are you actually writing too?"
he remained silent. he had been writing letters for.... her.
the scene where both of them were separated by the train doors still etched deeply in his mind. after so long... yet he couldn't get her off his mind.
he was writing letters... when he doesn't even know her address anymore.
he was frustrated, because he couldn't stop thinking of her from time to time. he was always wondering how she's doing now, most importantly; if she had forgotten about him.
"tae?"
"u-uh huh? oh. they were... letters to my grandmother. i miss her a lot. she lives very far away so i could not get to meet her frequently," he lied. he hated himself for lying to a kind and friendly girl, especially hiroko.
"oh... no wonder. hey, the sun is setting!" she pointed out.
both of them grew silent, each having different thoughts on their mind.
hiroko knew that it wasn't that easy. she knew that taehyung had been depressed for a long time, but she doesn't know what. she had been in love with him for a long time, but of course taehyung had no clue. he was too kind to her, and everytime he was kind, hiroko felt sad.
she knew that he would never belong to her. taehyung was always looking far beyond her, towards something in the distance. she knew that somehow, she wouldn't be able to give what he desires.
but then, she knew that no matter when, even when months pass by, she would still helplessly fall in love with him. she just hoped that in the future, taehyung would find the one he had been waiting, his true love.
and hopefully, in the near future, she herself would find her perfect one too.
