Hendery Imagine ❤️
Rainy days were inevitable when spring came. Out of all the seasons, there was some reason why it had became your favorite, even if it came side to side with the allergy month that you were expecting to arrive.
The night was approaching, but as you stroll down the cold alley leading to the bus stop you couldn't help stopping at the side where the cherry blossom trees were blooming in beauty. It reminded you of a memory so distant yet so warm. Then momentarily, you gazed into the night sky and smiled back at it.
We never had cold days like this in Hong Kong.
South Korea is indeed an enchanting place. You are originally from Hong Kong, studied in a university in Beijing for four years and then moved to Seoul after graduation. You were living in South Korea for almost two years now, and the thought of the flowers in bloom still gives you butterflies.
I'm right here now. You whispered to yourself in a soft tone.
For two years, you haven't stopped searching for this one person that had an impact on your whole existence. He is in South Korea for sure. You were a hundred percent sure that he lives there now, since the clues regarding his location were all related to Seoul.
Back when you were in your last year of university, an accident happened that caused your whole life to change. You were in need of blood, and because of its rare type, the doctors and your parents were in the state of desperation to search for donors. No one came, except for one person whom you least expected to come. It was your classmate in Performing Arts class; Hendery.
Hendery was a composed man. He would rather spend time alone than be with a group of friends. He had never shown his approachable side or even tried to at least be amiable towards his classmates. But the thought of him of donating his rare blood was way more impossible than winning the lottery. You were flustered when you knew it at first, but along the way you saw a different light in him. He wasn't a horrible man as you expected him to be, but as the days passed while you were recovering, he would unexpectedly pop up in your hospital room to check on you. You began to trust and open your vulnerable side to him, because you knew that you still owe him a huge portion of debt, and if weren't for him, you weren't able to survive the complication.
He also once promised that he would take you to see his favorite flowers on the first day of Spring. It was his Ahma's (grandmother) favorite flower, but she didn't had the chance to see it before she passed away due to Leukemia. That's why he promised his Ahma to donate his blood to people who are in need since the type of his blood is very hard to find if there are in need of it.
After you were discharged out of the hospital, Hendery was nowhere to be seen. He left university, he did not came back to his hometown, and the worst news that followed was when you knew that he flew out of China to work in another country.
You did not take it as a bad thing, since you didn't know what was the real reason why he left, but deep down in your heart you were shattered. You did gather a lot of courage to search for him to be with him again and fulfill his promise even if it came with the thought of you being the reason why he left.
I don't know if I should raise my hopes up or just quit my job and go back to Hong Kong. You sighed, feeling reminiscent and hopeless.
"I miss you, Hendery." You shouted at the top of your lungs, not caring whether there were people around or not. "I want to be with you, Hendery! Even if it means going through all of that all over again." You felt a tear rush down to your cheek as you forced a smile out of that silly emotion you were experiencing.
Those were the words that you haven't said to him, but wished you did. Those words that stored such feelings you couldn't contain inside. The feeling of regret crawled up intensely after he went missing, all you ever wanted to do is to tell him that even if it takes a long time to find him.
"What would you feel if I told you that I'm not going to leave without notice, again?"
You turned your back and faced the man who spoke behind.
He was there clothed in a black down jacket while placing both his hands inside his pockets while doing a chilly gesture. Hendery it is. You said calmly inside your head. You couldn't believe that he was there standing in front of you. The Hendery that saved your life. The Hendery that you were searching for desperately. He was there, and he was actually standing a few meters away from you.
"Hendery?" You started to move towards him, while he did the same after you. "How come you're here."
"Y/n, I'm sorry if I left, it wasn't my intention leaving you. We were so broke that-"
Not letting him finish his explanation, you immediately pulled him into your embrace while ignoring everything around you. It was beginning to get obvious that he was longing for you when he returned the hug with the tightest embrace he could ever possibly give.
"Hey, it's okay. Whatever reason it is, it's in the past now." You replied, still locking your arms around his body.
"I miss you so bad, and leaving without prior notice was the biggest mistake of my life. For two years, I spent my whole life searching for you too, but I got lucky when I found out that you moved here for work." You were shocked at the confession he had to make.
"Oh my god, Hendery, how did you find me." You bursted into tears after hearing those unbelievable words. "We were searching for one another, not knowing that the other one is doing so too."
"Hush, it's alright now." He smiled, pointing at the cherry blossom tree above you. "Remember that promise I made?" You nodded in response. "Well, I believe that taking you to see the flowers bloom on the first day of spring is already accomplished."
Out of nowhere, he pressed his lips onto yours and pulled you again into one big tight embrace.
"From now on, I promise you we'll be together from this first spring of our lives up to the last." He said with an accomplished grin.
