I stood still, looking up to the night sky, looking at the stars.
"The stars are beautiful tonight." I murmured to myself.
Time seemed to resume when one of His angels came down.
"You broke a numerous laws, Guide of Souls. You know the consequences." The angel said to me.
"I know." I said looking at him.
"You know very well that you won't go unpunished, right?" He said concern written in his face.
"I know and I'm ready for whatever may happen." I know that after this... I may not... It doesn't matter anymore.
"Vince of Ravendale, son of Jean and Johann, you have violated laws against your duty and endangering a soul which you are instructed to guide to Him. By the power entrusted to me, I deliver your verdict. You are sentenced to be banished from this realm and be relieved of you duties as the Guide of the Souls. Do you have any objections?" He said. I am prepared for this. I deserve this.
"I do not." I said. I have no need for words.
"Very well. Do you have any last words?" The angel asked.
"I hope He will forgive my selfishness. If Heavens allow, I wish to meet her in another life." I smile as tears poured from my once fleshless skull. I have returned to my original form.
"You know He will. May fates be kind upon you." He said as he begins the chanting.
I smile as I always used to when I was still alive.
Smiling, thinking of her, as I faded away.
As I returned to dust.
