This information is nice but doesn't helped me. Just increased more curiosity. Everything is okay but what I didn't understand was, why she's avoiding me. Had I done anything bad and forgotten about it?
So, I decided to ask Anu by myself why she was avoiding me.
After returning from walk, I found Surya awaken. He asked where I have been in this time. I said in a casual tone,
"Rami and I went for jogging."
Then, he said, grinning,
"Just jogging!? Ha, I almost believed".
"Rey, there's nothing ra, don't drag it."
"Aren't you both a thing?"
"No way!! I never saw her like that. She's a good girl, beautiful and lovely. I like her so much. Just as you like Kittu. That's it. You understand my point, right?"
"That I can understand. But what if Rumi has feelings for you? "
"What? I can't believe this. Why are we talking about it anyway?" asked Arjun annoyed.
"Just like that" Surya replied nonchalantly thinking about something.
Shaking his head for his brothers random questions, Arjun went to get fresh up.
The campaign day started, today in a near by village with the same protocol as yesterday. Today I'm at the technical things desk so couldn't find much time to look around or find time to go and have a talk with anyone.
During our lunch hour, I saw her at the hand wash. She was alone. Without wasting any moment, I went to her. She is washing her hands with soap. I stood just beside, looking at her. I know she recognized me and she was all tense but trying to ignore me.
Then, I asked,
"Why are you avoiding me? I know we are known to each other previously."
She turned to other side and I know if I don't stop her, again she will ran away. So, I grasped her wrist. Wrong move, I know. But I am a man on mission. Couldn't leave another chance. She looked at me, with a raised eyebrow glaring at me and stated, trying to release my grip on her.
"We never had, at least a talk earlier. So, leave me."
I replied, trying to play cool, leaving her hand,
"Then we will have a one now."
She was all silent and looked agitated. I was searching for words to continue the conversation and I asked her,
"Why are you avoiding me?".
She looked baffled to my question. I had to stop scaring her. My voice and composure are biggest contrast to my nature. No one will belive, I can be gentle too.
So, I comforted her by introducing myself, avoiding that topic.
"Hii, this is Arjun. From Hyderabad. What about you?"
She's in contemplation. Rami came there.
"What's happening here?"
"I'm asking Anu, to start our friendship afresh"
"What's to start again, we are never friends. Are we? "
"That's why I am saying, we should be friends, at least from now on. What do you say? " Arjun said boisterously, not giving up.
Rami is watching the scene with wide eyes hoping for the beginning of their friendship.
Anu too found its rude to turn him down and also she don't want Rami to be disappointed with her.
"I'm Anu. From Vijayawada."
"But Rami said you are staying in Hyderabad." he doubted looking at both of them.
"Yeah, but I'm shifting." she didn't want to give more details.
"We have to go." Anu said. Not particularly to anyone and returned.
She was going to leave the canteen and I followed her.
Surya caught me at that site and asked me,
"What was the matter bro?"
I said,
"It was nothing bro".
He asked me, with narrowed eyes,
"Morning you went to jogging with Rumi and afternoon you are walking with her friend, who will be another lucky girl I may found in the evening? Is it also nothing or do you to say anything with me?" the last sentence a bit seriously.
I know he will tease me like this, entire day.
"I will tell you bro after I know what it is, Okay? "
He replied something but I'm too engrossed looking around Anu. Suddenly, she also turned back but immediately snapped her head to frontside. I thought she may be returned that look to know whether I was following her or not. I laughed at my foolish thoughts. As a man, I am expecting that she is smiling now. I was wondering why I am interested this much towards this girl. She is not that much beautiful, follows old fashioned clothes, nothing to be much interesting about her physique, just as thin as a chopstick and also she has brown sugar colour skin tone. Ohh, I explained in a weird way, if she came to know about this, she will kill me with a fork. But, I know, one thing that every body should agree, was, her face features, mainly her eyes. They will attract any one. And her smile is a beautiful curve on her diamond cut face. Wow!! I am thinking a lot about her. Stop it man....
Evening
We all completed our tasks of today's schedule. I asked Rumi for a stroll and also Anu. I know Anu will deny but to my surprise, she agreed after Rumi discussed something with her and I called Surya also. It's weird that, he too joined. We walked some distance talking about random topics.
We entered to a local hotel for eating snacks. I started the conversation by asking Rumi,
"What are your plans for the party night,( in the middle of campschedule after the three days of work, a night is spend for some entertainment)."
She said in her usual tone,
"We will have dance, music, yummy food and games, right! I want to enjoy that night with our gang. We will rock na!"
Then, Surya mocked her,
"You will never skip food right na!".
That's lead to pouting of Rumi. I said,
"Stop it bro.Rumi is our buddy so don't make fun on her, she will hurt."
Rumi gave me a toothy smile and stated,
"That's why I hate you Surya and I like Arjun so much", she said it while holding my hand.
My heart skipped a bit and Surya's and Anu's jaws dropped to ground.
