"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us everyday... unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear."

~~~~~~
It was a sunny spring morning. The birds were peacefully perched on the branches of the trees and were creating a beautiful melody throughout the small yet gracefully arranged neighborhood. Rose had just woken up and lazily made her way to the kitchen, flicking the switch up on the water jug before opening the refrigerator's door, taking the milk out and placing it on the counter in the middle of the room. She stretched her hands up and yawned, making her eyes lightly water, as she was now opening the cabinet where her favorite coffee cup was placed. The jug made a small noise indicating that the water was already boiled and she quickly took out the Nescafé and placed a spoon full of it in her cup and returned the jar in its place. The hot water hit the coffee granules and the liquid in the cup almost immediately changed its colour to pinch black. The aroma of fresh coffee filled the air and Rose left the scent to invade her lungs. She placed two small spoons of sugar in the cup and poured milk until the desired creamy color appeared. The cozy vest was hung on the tall chair next to the counter and she grabbed it while making her way to the balcony. Just before opening the wide glass door something on the wall caught her glance. It was a calendar casually hanging right below the clock that Rose had made herself.
It was 24th of May, the exact same date that 6 years ago someone very dear to her heart had passed away.
Her entire existence wrapped in bitterness as she locked her gaze on the date. Her hand opened the door leading to the balcony and she shifted her eyes on the scenario revealed in front of her. The crowns of the trees were brightly green and the spring breeze hit her face. Kid's screams could be clearly heard from the school that was close by to her apartment and she sat down on the soft couch, as she placed her cup on the wooden table. The sky was clear and the birds were engaged in a beautiful love dance in front of her eyes. Rose took a deep breath and smiled to herself.
-"He loved peaceful mornings like this one." - she reminded herself and took a sip from her coffee.
The hot liquid made contact with her tongue and a bit of the bitterness filled her mouth. That was exactly how he loved it, not too sweet, but not too bitter at the same time.
Rose reached to the ledge of the window behind her and took the book which was containing a small letter, that she read everyday, because she was too scared that she will forget what is written in it. She placed the book in her lap and diligently leafed through the pages until she reached the folded paper. Her fingers slid softly on it and picked it up carefully unfolding it, as her eyes traced along the written words.
"Dear Rose,
I have been in deep thoughts the past couple of months, I miss you. My experience of being away has thought me something valuable. I learned that whenever I listen to my heart I always make the right decision, I learned that it's important to reach out to the people you care for the most, I learned that people need a warm hug filled with love or maybe just a friendly pat on the back. I have learned that people forget what you say, but they never forget what you did to them. I learned that when you love someone you should be standing right next to them and hold their hand tight. I'm sorry I left you behind my love and I'm sorry I have hidden my emotions for so long. Please just wait for me a bit longer and I will come to you. I will find you and I will hold your hand tightly and won't ever let go. Just wait for me, my love."
