After that 'mild'  break-up with Alex, I thought it'd all be fluke, and that he'd hopefully forget about it. I mean, I knew he was mad, but I didn't think that he'd be mad enough to shun my entire family and myself.

But he did exactly that, and even worse.

I woke up groggily, shutting my eyes and mind from the ridiculous tenets hat happened last night. God, why did I have to ruin everything? I stumbled out of bed, got dressed, and went downstairs.

"Hey," I heard someone call.

I turned around. Alex was standing behind me, a blank expression on his face.

My heart soared.

"Good morning!" I mustered cheerfully, trying desperately to conjure up some twisted relation to a smile.

"Save your bullshit," he stated impassively, flicking his hand at me.

I gaped at him as he continued, "I need to go to the park today for an assignment. Drive me there."

I had just gotten my license two weeks ago and wasn't even allowed to legally drive alone for six months.

"Alex, that's illegal," I brushed off, happy that I wouldn't have to adhere to his silly propositions.

"Do you think I give a fuck? Let's go."

Pushing my back to make me stumble, he swung the car keys at me. I caught them just in time for him to stroll out the door.

"Mighty fine weather, no?" He commented, whistling, pretending he can't just nearly cause my fall mere seconds ago.

"I hate it," I replied back, rushing on my shoes to meet him at my car.

"You won't tell anyone about last night, right?" I asked hesitantly, wringing my arms nervously.

He stiffened instantly, his facade immediately drawn shut.

"Would that ruin your perfect little image?" He asked mockingly, tilting his head to one side.

"Maybe I will," he added as an afterthought.

I stood there for a second uncomprehendingly until he shouted from inside the car.

"Get in. I've got a schedule to adhere to!"

I swallowed the bile in my throat and got in. Today would be a hell of a day.

I walked behind Alex like almost puppy as he carried his expensive Nikon camera, taking pictures of the different wildlife and scenery.

"What's this for again?" I asked.

He looked back at me and stared blankly at his camera again.

Sighing, I decided to walk around on my own for a bit.

Coming to a small vendor, I stopped and asked for an iced tea. The guy selling his drinks looked like a college kid, a bit scruffy but pleasing to the eye.

"That'll be 4.90," he said, openings palm to receive my payment. "But since you're pretty," he added as an afterthought, "Just your name would be a greta price to pay."

I smiled politely and declined. "Um, I'd rather just pay my 4.90," I said, placing the bills and coins in his hand.

His smile lost a bit of its shine. "Alright," he said, shrugging. "Your loss."

I smiled as he handed me the drink.

"Have a great day," I thanked, as I strolled away.

"No, thank you for making it great by coming," he winked.
