I've been in Sallyville for a little over a month now. Its a quaint little town in the middle of nowhere, with just one post office, one hospital, one church, one everything, well except the mall, they have two.
It was my first time in a public school apart from kindergarten and it was pretty cool. Except for the fact that I was a bit slow at catching up, everything was fine.
Mom, Nancy and I moved from Chicago because it was too clogged up and it made Nancy's asthma worse. So we came here to stay with my mom's younger sister Leanne and my dad's twin Stephanie.
My dad is in the army, so is my elder brother Jake. We only see them in December for Christmas which was about four months ago but I don't mind, Jake always sends letters.
I attend, well everyone here attends Sallyville high and its really cool, it is not that big but I'm not complaining that much anyway.
I'm Zach Andrews, I'm 16 and I'm almost six foot tall, okay I'm 5'9. I play soccer really really well and basketball too. Sallyville has a large field that's pretty much for everything, running, soccer and even picnics but we have to play basketball in the little gym. I tried out for both teams and I got picked. Mom says it's because I was really really good but Nancy says that it's because they don't have enough players, I think she's right, 5 year old Nancy is hardly ever wrong.
Everything here is named Sallyville. Sallyville post office, Sallyville mall, Sallyville High school, you get the gist. I was excited at first but I'm becoming really really bored, everything is the same, everyone knew everyone since they were in their nappies. I was still the new kid and the attention was getting tiring.
I wished and wished and wished that something different would happen, anything at all would be fine by me. In this town, if someone got a new pair of shoe that wasn't from their shoe store it was considered news.
I couldn't possibly ask mom to move back to Chicago, it wasn't fair to Nancy, she was bored as well. Mom wasn't, she adored this town, she joined every club in town and volunteered for every activity, she even help Leanne and Stephanie run the book store.
Well, you know how people always say too be careful what you wish for? I think I wished a tad too hard.
Something did happen.
