No one was there when I need them, except him.

I just heard the voice of owl who sing to tell me I'm not alone. The wind crashed my window as autumn weather came.

The sky was dark. There are no clouds. No stars, just moon.

I opened the window and let the wind dance with my hair while it kissed my cheek. I saw my neighbor sitting on his roof. Actually he's my friend at school and I have known him for years.

He waves his hand at me then smile. To be polite, I smile back and then closed the window. Sometimes I feel so awkward around him and joy at the same time, and I dont know the reason why.

What's wrong with me? I asked to myself as I drown my face with the blanket.

"There are things that we can have, but we can't keep." I whispered to myself looking through the window seeing his reflection still on the roof.

I looked at the clock on the wall, it's one in the morning. I should have fallen asleep four hours ago. I turned the lamp off and went to bed.

I wish, all of my thoughts will leave me alone while I sleep.

But I forgot, while I sleep, there are also nightmares would hunt me like a wolves preyed the sheeps.

So, I grabbed my phone, and play my favorite song. It called Sunset Lover by Petit Biscuits. All of the melody from the guitar made me feel peaceful for a little bit. That's song kind of like therapy to me.

As the sun shone her beauty, I woke up and get ready to school. I know today will be the shitty day as always. So, I put my uniform on and then went down stairs. The sound of spatula crashing the pan greet me as I enter the dining room.

"Morning, Rosetta."

Did I tell you that I don't like my name? Because it sounds so cliche.

"Morning, dad, mom."

"Rose, can you pass me the salt?" My dad asked me while his eyes looking through his phone on his hand and the other hand holding a spoon.

"Sure."

And then, we have a normal breakfast as a family, even though sometimes I feel like a completely a stranger.

There was nothing about my life to talk about. There's no interesting part. I'm just a teenager who just have body but not a complete soul.

I'm the castaway one, yes I'm alive but i dont know where I belong plus I'm a complicated person ever. Also, I'm an expert at overthinking.

My dad drove me to school as always to make sure I go to school and not ditching. Although I have snuck out once with Ethan –the boy who were on the roof last night– after the first period to go grab some ice cream and also avoiding Mrs. Darbus with her ugly ass subject in her class.

Someone tapped onto my shoulder and then there's Ethan Dolan.

"Hey."

"Hi." I smiled to him as he smile to me. It's weird when we were just say hey to each other like this. "I saw you on the roof last night." I tried to find a subject while debating with my heart and brain.

"Yeah, I saw you too." He said with his goofy smile that I fall in love with. "Everything's all right?" He asked me as scanning my eyes.

His eyes are pretty attractive.

I'm not lying you can stare at those eyes for days and never got bored.

I just smile to answer his question and I hope he understood what I mean.

For the love of god, he hug me so tight. Like he won't let me go.

"If you're drowning, I will save you and asked god to help me." He said whispering to my ear. His voice is cracked. It broke my heart.

"You'd better asked God to save me," I dont want to cry in front of him, or he will called me chicken like all the time, "first."

I left him alone in the hallway, I dont know what the hell is going on.

He tried to catch my step then he grabbed my arm. "Can I help you? Not to hurt anymore?"

"You have helped me, a lot, E. You're my only friend that I have." I said.

"You have to tell me, what's going on!" His face turned to red. I used to laugh at him when his face like that or made a joke about it, but right now, i couldn't. "I can see pain in your eyes and don't lie to me again."

"Let me ask you something, E."

He stay silence but nod his head.

"Who cares if someone's time runs out?" My voice is shaking as I played with my hands.

"If a moment is all we are, we're quicker."

"Who cares if one more light goes out?" I asked to him who standing right in front of him, while his goofy smile fade away. "In a sky of million stars, it only flickers right?"

"Well, I do, Ro." He said and the goofy smile that I missed painted again on his face. He called me with my nick name that he gave me.

He kept locking his eyes on me and I couldn't describe how intense this situation. His tongue lick his bottom lip and then meet mine slowly.

"Sometimes, we have to feel the pain to make sure that we do have a soul."

He kissed me again. His lips tasted more like mint mixed with blueberry while I froze like a statue.

"I love you but more than a friend."

"You're lying, Ethan."

"Ro, just cause you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there."
