Well, this is it for me. Here's my Saturday so far.
I was captured by the Octarians.
I lost my friends.
I got my posterior kicked pretty good. Things can get a lot worse though.
Oh, that's right. My brainwashed girlfriend has a Splattershot pointed at my head.
She's being controlled by one of my long-time idols, who's being controlled herself by a long-time foe.
The spawn points are out of uses due to the energy crisis in Octo Valley. I guess they can't.
You might be asking yourself "how in the name of all sea creatures did it escalate this quickly?!" Well, my imminent death starts at the beginning.
The beginning of my love life.
Ink battles. A staple in inkling society.
At 15 and a half years old, inklings such as myself have been discovering new ways to improve upon our battling skills to take down our enemies on the battlefield and as a species.
Having moved to Inkopolis at that age to better improve myself, I've been a bit skeptical about it. Sure, I'm laid back, optimistic, energetic, and was sporting some of the newest trends that have been sprouting in inkling society, but even I have my doubts and limitations.
Ever since I've started ink battling at almost 14 years old, much like all of us inklings have, things have been a bit...hectic for me, to say the least.
Minus a few exceptions, such as an inexperienced team, I've lost most of the ink battles I've participated in. Yeah, I can get cocky sometimes.
While most of the teams I've been a part of understood my unique learning ability (and my detrimental overconfidence), some were quite salty about the situation, one even going as far as breaking my first ink weapon, a Splattershot Jr.
All of that, however, never stopped me from trying my hardest to get better and better every time I took part in an ink battle.
Believe it or not, my efforts over the years are what helped me scrape together enough coins to be able to attend a very fateful night in my life.
One that changed it for the better despite my doubts.
On that day, which was six months after the final Splatfest hosted by the Squid Sisters, I decided to participate in my first ink battle in the last two weeks.
Having my Splat Roller locked and loaded, I felt confident in myself that I'd win for sure, much like every single time I go in, darn it!
I entered the Deca Tower in Inkopolis Square and I went into the unisex locker rooms, since all I needed to do was put a few things away for the next few minutes. As I was stowing away my phone and wallet, I caught a glimpse of the inkling standing only a few lockers away from me.
She was the most astounding sight I've ever taken into my fragile little mind for someone her age. Her pink tentacles styled into a cute bobbed style which complimented her violet eyes, which to me were a gateway into her soul.
Her marvelous face really sold it for me. Unexpectedly, she glanced right back at me and gave me a smirk accompanied by a wink. That tease she was.
That may have gotten my heart pumping, but I knew that I had to stay focused. As soon as I closed my locker, I headed to the transporter, as did the other seven inklings, including the one I saw earlier.
We were all headed to the rooftops of Moray Towers, which was a good spot to battle and catch a view of a large patch of the city.
I was a tad bit rusty with my roller, but I still felt like I was ready.
