Who knew that even after all of that intense inking that my team would still win? Well, it was only the first round, and none of us knew what to expect next.
We turned into our squid forms as we made our way back to our spawn points, and after having our eyes shut for about two minutes, all eight of us were back in the lobby at Inkopolis Tower.
We emerged, feeling slightly worn out after that battle.
"Let's give it up for the Order of the Ink!," cheered Callie before all of the other teams cheered us on, including the one we had just competed with.
Soon after the cheering had simmered down, the battle type for branch 2 was revealed.
Rainmaker.
I felt nervous, as I haven't participated in that type of battle in the last month. Even so, I had to say something, even though I may end up getting shunned.
"Guys...I haven't done Rainmaker battles in a while and I've never had time to sharpen my skills...," I confessed.
"What?!," the team shouted. "Dude, why didn't you say anything?," Dalia asked me. "It's a good thing we're going in the last match of this branch of the tournament, at least according to that diagram up there. We could use this time to sharpen up all of our skills. Shall we, fellas?"

We headed back into Sheldon's inking range for another 45 minutes, and when those 45 minutes passed, we hurried out of the Ammo Knights shop and went back to the base of Inkopolis Tower.
It was a good thing that Sheldon decided to reopen his old shop in the Plaza just for that day and the day after.
"The moment you battle-hungry squids have all been waiting for has finally arrived!," exclaimed Marie.
"It's now time for the final match of the tournament qualifiers, and whoever wins this match will move onto tomorrow's finals along with the other 7 teams!," cheers Callie.
"It's the Order of the Ink..." started Marie.
"Versus the Salmonid Slaughterers!," finished Callie as the other team emerged from the dense crowd.
Salmonids...where have I heard that term before...?
Once I was able to catch a good look at the opposition, it hit me. All of them had one thing in common: they all wore a life vest with the GrizzCo Industries logo plastered on it. To me, they were giving the impression that they have worked for them before. The girls that were wearing the vests particularly struck a chord with me. It made me envision my own girlfriend wearing it and showing off her midriff.
"Do you think that those guys might have worked for GrizzCo?," asked Sarah.
"Looks like," replied Mikey. "I've gotta ask them about it once this next game's over."
"Actually, Dalia and I have been wanting to address the many rumors we've heard about the job at GrizzCo, and we think this'll be a perfect chance to put them to rest once we have time," I explained.
