Death smiled, the slight jaggedness of her teeth becoming more apparent in the grin, and touched her forehead to [Y/n]'s, "Are you okay?" She questioned, pure black eyes studying her closely.   [Y/n]'s eyes flickered to the side, catching the sight of a seething Zalgo clenching and unclenching his fists behind them, "Yeah," she muttered, pushing Death backwards softly and standing with a slight stumble, "Never felt better."
As she straightened her spine, she cracked her neck with a harsh snap and looked at the mouthy demon with a lazy smirk, "Ohoho... This feels good. Your masterful plan that must of took you decades, no... millennium to perfect just crumbled right in front of you in mere seconds." She placed her hands on her hips, ignoring the searing pain ripping at her bones, and cocked her head with a mocking pitying smile, "How are you feeling?" Seconds passed and Zalgo simply tightened his barbed jaw causing [Y/n] to burst out with a mixed laughter, "I could almost feel sorry for you." She mocked, basking in the reaction she pulled out of him.
"You have no idea how to control that power..." He grunted, squinting his eyes at her relaxed her figure. "It will tear you apart if you make one mistake."
"Then I won't make any mistakes." She shrugged, turning to face him fully.
"You fool!" Zalgo screeched, voice turning to a stretch of decibels that burned her ears with the same fury he burned with, "Your body is still just an earthly possession! If you carry on with this facade of confidence you'll destroy not only yourself but any possible future reincarnation written into fate! Have you no self-preservation?!"
[Y/n] took a moment. He wasn't wrong and it pissed her off. But for centuries, she had lived in agony, not one life was filled with love - just pain and sadness and strife - could she do it all over again? If she was to protect humanity, shouldn't she love them unconditionally? Yet, they started wars among themselves, they fought and hated their own kind for no reason at all; she had experienced the least of it with the stories she heard. How could you protect that?
But then again, there is good.
She just had to look.
Her brother, all those centuries ago was full of energy and life. Those random friends she made in her existence, maybe she didn't talk to them all too much but she could remember the swirl of life in their eyes whenever they experienced joy. Even random people on the streets, the ones who would stick up for her every now and then, the sweet old lady on the bench in the park who would share the toffee sweets she always had, the little girl who taught her how to make flower crowns, the nice man in the bakery who would always give her a warm smile with no words exchanged.
They were human and she supposed that was their charm. No matter how much shit they experienced they always strived to make it right again.
"I guess not." She muttered, looking up to Zalgo with a white glow behind her eyes.
Without warning, she fell to one knee and swept a hand over the ground causing the rocks crack and bend, growing taller in mere seconds knocking Zalgo off his own feet. The red demon was barely able to catch himself landing on his hands and knees, "You want to play games Zalgo? You're gonna play by my fucking rules." He stumbled to get to his feet but [Y/n]'s foot connected her foot to his neck sending him flying yet another couple of yards. He got up faster this time and ripped open a mouth on his chest that screamed with a thousand souls, she flinched but solidified her hand in the golden angelic metal that looked like ice and drove it into the void of his chest and pushed down. Zalgo's scream melted into the mouths, his rocky skin melted and shriveled as the hand touched it and just barely ripped himself away with the help of a shadowy mass. He fell back once again and looked up to his assailant who was focused on her right hand. Instead of glowing metal, her skin dripped from the muscle like sludge, sizzling and bubbling as though it was dipped into acid. [Y/n]'s eyes were wide as she tried to suppress the pain that convulsed through her body. When he said her body couldn't take it she didn't expect that to be the result.
Zalgo steadied himself back onto his feet while brushing off his body, "How unfortunate..." He drawled, mouth growing into a pointed grin, "You're an easier enemy then expected."
More focused on her decaying hand she could hardly see Zalgo pull out a thick, glistening sword from the broken void of his chest. This pain was blinding but she kept trying to reform some type of a layer onto the exposed muscle leading it to only fizzle away faster. Zalgo took it as his chance and swung his weapon towards her, she barely caught the glow of the metal and had to fall to the ground to avoid the full force, the sword however, cut a good inch into her skin. The damned metal cursed her skin, the effected area colouring itself to an opaque black and flaking away. [Y/n] let out some form of a strangled scream and used her normal hand to hold the wound - if this skin wasn't removed it will continue to eat away at her arm - so without much thought she dug her broken nails into the skin and pulled. It took a couple of tries and the exposure of a small amount of bone for the blackened skin to stop eating her skin. She shook her left hand to dispose of the small clumps of muscle still stuck to it.
"You really are one resilient bitch." Zalgo snorted, stepping towards her with slow deliberate steps.
"You have no fucking idea." She jumped high and placed her feet on his chest, kicking as harshly as she could sending him flying. She landed shakily but ran after his body, jumping up once again and flipping her body, she then placed her a foot to the back of his head and made sure he landed on it fully. She scrambled off quickly looking back at the demon as he lifted his head, little bits of his skin had ripped off on impact stained already with a thick tarry black substance but he was still able to get himself off the ground, weapon back into his grip with ease. The skin on her arms began to crawl, her eyes tried to find a wound, worried another slice had got her but instead saw the way her skin grew almost translucent, exposing the veins underneath. She didn't know why she suddenly understood what to do but followed what seemed to be like muscle memory to her body and slammed her fists into the ground. A shock wave exploded from the impact causing what felt like a massive earthquake and from the crater she saw a staff half poking out from the surface. She grabbed it and tugged, easily pulling out a large ax. Its blade was massive, stretching over the handle looking almost like a full circle yet it felt almost weightless in her hands. Flipping it between her hands quickly, she tried to get her right hand used to the feeling of the handle pressing into her muscle. With clenched teeth she swung it towards Zalgo - it burned to say the least as when she moved the ax so quickly, the lopsided weight became apparent and she had to fight against the force of it flying out of her hands (which was much easier said then done with the current state of her hands) - he lifted his own weapon to shield himself but the ax clawed itself through the metal, slicing it off in one fell swoop. The metal clanged to the floor but dissipated seconds after the severed hilt in his hands crumbling soon after.
She expected some type of drawback, that wasn't any normal sword after all and the ax was summoned from out the goddamned ground.
But... nothing.
Almost reluctantly, she looked down to her body almost worried she was going to see some massive hole she was numb to but there really was nothing.
Actually no, no, her skin was still translucent but it was covered in these grayish runes they looked as though it was closely stitched to her skin.
"No..." Zalgo whispered, barely catching her attention but he stumble away from her, she watched his face morph and lifted her eyebrow but it quickly clicked.

Her body was no longer an earthly possession.
She had shed that skin and was now back to her original being.

"Oh you are fucked."
