It's been almost a year now. Ever since you've joined Overwatch. Met Mako,Jamie,lucio,Zenyatta. Made so many friendships. A relationship. You looked at your living quarters and sighed. This was only a year thing. Soon you were going to go back home. To measly little (HomeTownName). You stared longer and only became sadder. You felt tears stinging your eyes and you wiped them away. Baby. Laying down on your bed,an empty feeling consumed you. You loved these people. They were family. Why did you have to leave? You only had 2 more days before they were sending you home. God damnit.
Day 1.
Everyone seemed unusually quite. Today. When you woke up,there were silent whispers. Lucio wasnt as cheerful when he greeted you today. "Hey,(Y/N). What's up?" He still had his glory smile on his face. God,you were going to miss him. You forced a smile on your face. "Good..good. Just..packing up!" You let out a sad laugh as he put a hand in your shoulder. " Hey. Listen,it's not to bad. You can still call and talk to us! Just..Not as often" Your smile slightly faded.
As he waved bye,you walked away. Sad. You noticed Jamie and Mako sitting at the table. Both seemed excited for whatever reason. You went over to go talk to them. "Hey guys!" You exclaimed, Jamie looked at you,his excitement fading. "Oh.hi,(y/n)!" His goofy smile still splattered on his face. Mako waved,he had his stupid mask on,so you couldn't tell what expression he was wearing. You waved back and looked over at jamie, "What're you guys talkin' about?" He looked over at mako and shook his head. "Oh..s'nothin,mate" You gave him a confused look and slowly nodded. "Alright,I guess"
Tracer and d.va coaxed you to play video games with them. You reluctantly agreed. Oh well,might as well get as much fun in as possible. You beat tracer,but D.va was almost impossible,you bea t her on the last level but only because her arms were sore and she dropped her controller . She groaned "My winning streak! (Y/N)!!" She whined, trader only laughed with you. "Oh,c'mon Hana! It wasn't that bad!" Tracer only laughed harder.
Angela and Jack eventually came in,both wanting to watch a movie. "Action sounds good for now" Jack tried reasoning with Angela but she insisted to watch a romantic comedy. Jamison heard this,and immidiantly groaned,"BO-RING! LETS WATCH ACTION!" Everyone,including Yourself Agreed.
Jack plopped in the movie,lucio and d.va came in with popcorn.
You hadn't noticed earlier,but you were tired as hell. Every few moments of the moment you would call asleep,jamie kept you awake th entire time,with no whispering and cackling. This made you kind of grouchy. He looked you "oh!look look look! Best pa-" you cut him off with your hissing whisper "Would you shut up for one fucking moment?" He stopped. His face looked like you just called him dirt and swept him away. He looked away and kept his mouth shut for the rest of the movie.
When it was over,he quickly removed himself from the living quarters. Guilt splashed in your stomach. Damnit,why did you say that? You quickly ran after him,after he turned a corner,you lost him. "Jamie?" You called out. Getting no reply. "(y/n)?what ar' ya doing?" Mako was behind you, you turned to look at him and sighed. "I told Jamison to shut up..an now he's mad at me.." You could feel him rolling his eyes beneath the mask. " C'mon,let's go find em"
20 minutes later you both found him outside,he was tinkering with a little bomb. "Jamie?" He was lost in thought and only nodded. Mako sat to the left of him, you stood behind him. Wires and screw drivers hung beside him. He was wrapping two strings together and groaned as the end split in two. "Ah fuck! Screw it!" He angrily swept his project off the little stump he was working on. Mako looked from jamie to you. He pulled off his mask. " ya didn't have to do that. " Jamie looked at him then at you. He fell into your arms and whimpered. "Ya,I didnt! But I did!" He stuck his tounge out at mako who merely rolled his eyes.
Mako pulled him off of you and pat his back. C'mon. "Just try again,it's not too hard!" You tried to cheer him up but he just let out a small hmf and shook his head. "Oh well." You chuckled and scooted next to Mako, laying on his arm. You wiped some swear from your forehead. "Sheesh. It's kinda hot out here.." Jamie looked up and shrugged. " s'not too bad" he ran a hand across his brow.
Mako looked at you. "Yeah,compared to 'stralia,this is nothin. Although I still am sweatin' like a pig" You let a small chuckle and sighed. Jamie seemed to have forgotten about earlier,good.
"Hey Luvs!" Traced called out, and had 4 popsicles with her as she zipped down towards the 3 of you. Handing everyone a pop,she smiled. "Hot out today,isn't et?" You all nodded. Biting down on the icy treat,you remembered how this was one of your last days here.
You must've had tears in your eyes considering tracer looked at you with a worried frown "luv?you alright?" You wiped your eyes and laughed " yeah!..yeah. I'm okay" you nodded and smiled,she sighed and hugged you. "Oy,it's okay."
You felt awkward that Jamie and Roadhog were just staring at you two now. Uh.
-TIME SKIP-
Laying in bed you groaned. Atleast you got to spend time with everyone.
Day. 2
Waking up ,you already knew what was going to happen. You had to use all motivation to get yourself up. Looking at all the boxes,you felt like crying. You walked out into the aim building near the entrance. In just a few hours you were going to be leaving.
You ran go jamie and mako. "Hey (y/n)-!" You pulled them both into a tight hug. Mako grunted,wrapping his large arms around you. "Mate?..You alright?" He didn't know. " Jamie,I have to leave..You know that" a flash of anger went across his face. "The hell do you mean!?You Cant Leave!...n-not..now!"he buried his face In HIs Hands. Mako Looked At You. "Sorry about him."you Only Nodded,planting a Kiss On His Nose.
Angela greeted you ,a warm smile on her face. A smile you would miss. "Greetings (Y/N)!" She hugged you tightly, you let Out a chuckle. "Hi,Angela" She noticed the sad hint in your voice and her face dropped. "(Y/N). I know this is hard,we all will miss you. But don't worry! We can still keep in touch." You looked up at her and barely smiled. "Yeah,I guess you're right"
Zenyatta hurriedly called you too him,his voice sounded anxious so you quickly made your way to his direction. You turned the corner only to picked up by orisa. "Hello!" Her cheerful voice made you smile. " HI Orisa! " Zenyatta came out from behind the door and floated over to you and the cheerful omnic. "Hello,(y/n) ,We wanted to inform you how amazing we think you are!" Bastion followed behind hi m,and threw glitter into the air. You giggled and looked back at zen,orisa,and bastion. "God,thank you guys!"
Ana invited you outside,to the gardens,for tea. Even though you never really liked tea,this tasted amazing. "If you don't mind me asking,what do you do to make this taste so good?" You asked, taking another sip for the dainty little cup. She laughed and winked,or blinked you didn't really know with her one eye, "A secret,that musn' t get out" ah,of course. Secretive as always.
You looked at the time 4:30. 2 more hours.
You went inside the base when you were done with tea,looking for Mako and Jamie. You groaned,we're you really not going to be able to see them? Mcree offered to help move boxes outside with you. Sweetheart. "Hey uh,Pal?" He looked at one of the boxes questionly. " yeah? " you called out,our of breath from picking up 4 boxes. "Is that your Movin' guy?" You looked outside to see a truck. You groaned, 5:40. "Yeah.." You quickly moved outside to go talk to him.
" are you (First name) (Last name)? " you merely nodded. He looked past you for a second before smiling. "Alright,follow me. " He led you to the front of truck,handing you a paper. You stared at it a second before forcing a smile at him. "Uh,are you sure this is the right paper..? It says 'you're already....' " Before you finished your sentence you quickly turned around.
Everyone was standing in front of the base,everyone except Mako. A huge pair of arms wrapped around you picking you up. "Welcome home,kid" tears immediantly streamed from your eyes. "Wha..?" Lucio ran up,hugging you as well. "You're an official member of overwatch!" You looked from him to Mako. You only felt more tears. "W-what!? Really" Lucio nodded. "Come on everyone! Let's welcome (Y/N) home!" Everyone crowded around you, everything felt blurry,you were obviously crying and laughing. Hugging everyone you could. Eventually you ended up in Makos arms again. You looked up at him,smiling. "Love ya kid" you giggled and blushed. "I love you too,Mako." You pulled him into a kiss. You and Mako. You and Overwatch.
