Chapter 3

Jareds POV

Saturday morning. Alarm goes off. 7am. Ugh.

April wasn't arriving until about 10 and its only an hours drive to the airport. I wanted to look sharp. So I threw on some tight black jeans, a plain black top, and a leather jacket. For the new album I guess you could say I was going 'emo'. I carried myself to the bathroom and washed up, I brushed and straightened my black hair, I had to have red tips at the ends soon but heck the weirder the better. I didn't use my guyliner eaither, the black liquid shit irritated my eyes.

I walked down the twirling stairs to find Shannon lounging about on the long cream sofa, with a cup of coffee, no fucking surprise there. He was watching some reality program.

'Off to get April then.' He didn't even turn around, he just sipped his coffee.

'Yea, what do you plan on doing today then?'

'This.' He turned and faced Me, a corner smile grew on his face.

'I'm going then.' I don't think Shannon was paying much attention.

'Its like 8am dude, what are you gonna be doing, the drive isn't even that long.' He got up and rummaged through the cupbards and pulled out 2 packets of 'Sterling' cigarettes and handed them to me.

'April requires these.' He said sarcastically. I wasn't a smoker, this whole vegan diet doesn't allow them, but that doesn't stop Me from having one every now and then. I took them and shoved them in my pocket, and took a nut bar for the journey.

'Oh and Jared..' Shannon called. 'Don't be a prick, you two left on the wrong foot, so don't try to hard.'

'Thanks for the heads up.' I dramatically answered leaving the house.

I got into my red Nissan Duke and headed for the airport, I put the cigarettes on the side of the passengers seat and after an hour I was outside the airport. I had time to kill so I got out my phone to text April I was in lane A, browsed through twitter and when I got bored started playing some game from one of my apps.

I was startled by a women wearing a black frilly skirt that fell above her knees, no tights, and a long sleeved tight plain black top that was tucked in, her blonde hair was curled, showing her stretcher and several other ear piercings, her winged eyeliner complemented her eyes, and her ruby red lipstick complemented her snow white skin.

She tapped on the car window and gave an unsure smile. She was expecting Shannon.

'Well I'm surprised to see you.' She said getting in the car. She was trying hard not to make her skirt come up to high.

'Sorry to dissapoint, I hope they make up for it.' I said pointing at the cigarettes on the side.

'Theyl have to do.' She said smiling while taking one out, she reached into one of her bags, and pulled out a lighter. I started the car, the first 10 minutes was filled with a tense silence, the occasional noise came from April while she was inhaling and exhaling her fag.

'So..what have you been doing this past year?' I nervously asked.

'Well lets see.. I met a guy, I broke up with a guy, I got a job, I got fired from a job, I developed insomnia again and well, had a shit time.' She didn't sound depressing, she was a dark girl, deep and troubled but yet somehow still full of life and happy.

'I can give you a job here if you'd like, the band needs a PA really, the pays good, plus you get to travel a lot, are you on medication for that?' I sounded more confident this time.

'Yea along with a bunch of other shit, I'll consider the job we'll just see how these next two weeks go.' She smiled at me. 'So you've got a new album huh?'

'Yes! and I just so happen to have a copy in the CD player, wanna sneak peek? I hit play and the first track, 'Attack' starts playing.

April bounced her head to the beat, 'Bit vain having your own CD already in your car?' She loudly said jokingly.

'What can I say, we create beautiful music.' I winked and chuckled.

Before we knew it we pulled up at my condo. Shannon waved through a tall glass window, and Tomo came up behind him holding up a box of beer.

They looked like children.

I helped April with her bags, and let her in.

'I can't believe you're finally here you look-' Shannon stopped realizing how surprised he sounded. 'You look great. ' He said folding his arms.

'Thanks Shannon.' The two shared a moment and I didn't like that.

'Hey April lemme show you your room.' I flicked my head toward the stairs and started walking, I glared at Shannon as I walked by.

And in that moment I could tell this wasn't going to be easy.
