"Harry?"
His eyes met mine as i stared at him like he was crazy or something for sitting out here in the pouring rain.
"do you need a ride home?" i asked loudly over the sound of the down pour of the rain, he simply shook his head.
"no thank you." he said softly, i frowned.
"come on harry, i don't mind, the bus stops running this late anyways." i insisted, he watched me carefully as he thought.
"i'm okay Amberlyn, really. Thank you." He said silently but loud enough to be heard over the rain.
He always spoke so gently and softly, and his eyes were sweet and friendly. I refused to let him sit in the rain and be cold.
"Harry, please get in my car out of the rain." i pleaded softly, he wiped the rain from his face as he sighed. i leaned over the console opening the door and pushing it open so he could get in.
I watched as he wore a frown on his face, reluctantly sitting in my passenger seat closing the door as i rolled up the window.
i looked in my back seat knowing i had a towel back there somewhere, i felt the soft material as i pulled it towards me to give to Harry.
"Thanks." he mumbled as he took the towel slowly putting it against his face to dry himself off.
"of course, the weather is way too bad for you to be out there right now." i said with a smile in hopes to see him show some emotion.
He only simply nodded with me and looked out the window at the rain, i sighed as i looked at the road ahead of me.
"alright, so where am i taking ya?" i asked trying to sound cheery for his sake of being comfortable with me and to ease the awkwardness. his frown deepened as he sighed looking at his hands as he fumbled with the towel in his hands.
"erm- i don't really-" he cut himself off as he stayed quiet, i watched him silently as he looked at me, his green eyes clear with sadness as he spoke the next words. "i have no where to go."
he let his head fall, eyes avoiding mine to look at his hands again, my smile wiped off my face as i felt my heart ache for the boy beside me who was clearly upset at the statement.
"no where to go?" i questioned softly, he simply nodded.
"i uh- have no home."
"w-what about your parents or your family?" i asked him quietly, he shook his head immediately.
"they don't want to see me." the silence engulfed us, i felt speechless.
what on earth do i say at this point?
i just saw this boy about two days ago, and just fully met him and learned his name only thirty minutes ago.
Now he's in my car, soaking wet with no where to go. i frowned to myself and thought, i put my car in drive as i decided what to do. i drove down the road quietly the only sound being the windshield wipers moving at a fast pace and the soft music.
"w-where are y-you taking me?" harry broke the silence as i felt his stare on the side of my face.
"You said you had no where to go, so i'm giving you somewhere to go Harry." i said softly, knowing fully he could either accept what was happening, or full on freak out and jump out of the car.
"w-what? where?" he asked with a shiver, i glanced at him and smiled gently hoping i wasn't being an absolute creep.
"to my house." i said simply, his eyes widened slightly as he eyed me while i stopped at a red light.
"why would you do that?"
"like i said, the weathers too bad for you to be out in right now, and you could use a warm place to sleep." i said softly noticing his shivering body as well as his slightly reddened eyes accompanied by dark bags underneath.
"you don't have to do that." he said quickly. "you barely know me." he said quickly, thinking i was probably crazy.
"You're right, i don't." i said confidently as the light turned green and i pressed onto the gas. "i want to."
"how do you know i wont kill you or rob you or s-something like that?" he stuttered out slowly, i chuckled.
"well i hope you wouldn't." i paused glancing at his face. "consider it a gift from me to you." i said with a small smile.
he nodded as he looked at his hands avoiding my gaze, his lips tugged into a very small smile as i turned looking back to the road.
Eventually we made it to my house, i parked in my drive way as i turned to Harry as he took in the house before him. His mouth was agape as his pretty green eyes ventured over my house.
"this is your house?" he asked amazed at my house, i let out a small laugh and nodded.
"yeah, c'mon lets head in." i said as i shut off the car jumping out as he followed in suit running to my front door through the heavy rain.
i unlocked my door as i opened it letting it swing open as i turned on a light to my living room. His mouth stayed ajar as he looked around stepping in further.
i shut the door behind him as i walked into my house, i glanced at him to find him wobbling to slip off his shoes to leave at the door.
i let out a chuckle as he snapped his head up to look at me.
"i didn't want to get your floor dirty." he said softly, a slight pink tinting his cheeks, i grinned and set my keys on my coffee table slipping off my jacket.
"don't worry about it." i said smiling at him warmly, he stood at my door awkwardly. "make yourself at home." i said softly, he shifted on his feet as he looked around awkwardly.
i smiled shaking my head as i turned walking towards my hallway motioning him to follow. i heard his heavy footsteps as i walked down the hall to the bathroom, walking in turning on the light.
"feel free to shower, use whatever you want. there's a spare toothbrush under the sink, this is the spare bathroom, so use whatever you need." i said simply clasping my hands together as i looked at him.
"Oh! also, my brother has some clothes that you'd probably fit into in the spare room across the hall, so help yourself to them."
His eyes stared into me warmly as he nodded gently, i grinned.
"you clean up, ill make some food." i paused. "cause i don't know about you but i'm starved." i said as i gently set my hand on his cold shoulder, walking out the door shutting it softly behind me.
i felt my heart warm, and my insides buzzing as i knew this had to have been something he was looking forward to and something he needed.
A chance to freshen up, a warm place to sleep, dry clothes, a hot meal, and simply someone to talk to.
to know i was able to give someone something they needed, made me feel on top of the world, and it was the best feeling ever.
