"that movie is so creepy." she muttered to herself, i chuckled softly and nodded as the credits to Split played on the screen.

"crazy there's probably people actually like that guy." i said mocking the voice of the personality he had named Hedwig, she looked at me with a look of terror making me laugh causing her to crack a smile.

"oh my god, it worries me how good you said that."

"of course its one of my personalities." i said with a smile as she laughed pushing my shoulder playfully.

We had spent most of the day laying on her couch as we watched movies and played some video games even though we spent most of the time getting to know each other more.

i was having so much fun i didn't even realize it was getting late again, i frowned at the clock, looking back at Amberlyn she was already looking for another movie. i huffed gently fumbling with the blanket draped over my lap.

"is it super weird to say i don't want to leave?" i said softly, she looked at me quickly as her eyes searched mine.

"is it even weirder to say i don't want you to leave?" she said hesitantly, i let a grin take over my lips and shook my head. "then don't ." she said simply as she looked back at the tv with a shrug, i stared at her for a second waiting for her to laugh as an indication she was joking.

But the laughter never came, her lips stayed in a straight line, her eyes focused on the tv as she scrolled through movies.

"what?" i asked in disbelief as she turned her head towards me.

"you don't have to leave." she whispered, i eyed her as she stared back.

"are you crazy?" i said softly, her lips twitched into a smirk, nodding her head at me as i continued to stare at her in disbelief.

"yeah, only occasionally." she laughed.

"w- what- why would you even-"

"i've gotten to know you Harry, i enjoy your company honestly , and like i said before i want to help you. So you can stay here in the guest room till you get on your feet." she said simply. "if you want." she rambled quickly. "i don't want you to be uncomfortable or feel like you are being forced to stay."

"Amberlyn." i said softly. "Why are you doing this for me?"

she stayed silent as she stared gently, silence engulfed the room for a few seconds as she bit her bottom lip in thought.

"cause i have done it before." she said gently, i raised my eyebrows slightly in confusion as i looked at her before she continued on. "i did it for my brother, after he moved out from home."

i frowned as she took a deep sigh before continuing.

"He moved out when he turned 18, and i didn't see him for a whole year till one day he came to here begging me to help him, telling me how alone and how hungry he was. He had absolutely nothing he had followed the wrong crowd, gotten into trouble, and did things he regretted. I took him in and let him stay here for a while till he got back on his feet and one day i woke up and he was gone." she said softly, shaking her head at the thought. "god he was so stupid." she whispered quietly, i set my hand on hers like she did to me in the kitchen this morning, i felt her hand trembling softly as i slowly wrapped my fingers around hers.

"do you know where he is now?" i asked softly, she looked at me as her eyes watered.

"he had disappeared after he left my house and a few weeks later they found him in an alleyway after he had overdosed."  she said quietly, i felt my stomach turn at the thought of losing someone in that way.

i didn't say anything but pull her into my arms, she immediately curled up to my side as her head laid on my shoulder her shaky breathing against my neck as i held her tightly hoping to comfort her.

god if this wasn't a repeat of earlier.

"Im so sorry Amberlyn." i whispered softly after we sat there for a few minutes, she sniffled softly.

"its okay." she said pulling away from my side wiping her tears, she smiled weakly at me. "now you know why i care about helping you Harry." she said softly clutching my hand in hers, i smiled back at her softly.

"i don't want the same thing to happen to someone who has so much in life left to achieve." she paused as i kept my soft smile, my thumb rubbing soft circles on her hand. She stared at me as her dark brown eyes flickered between my two green ones, i felt my smile drop back to seriousness as i inspected her face with my own eyes.

Her soft skin was turning a light pink color as she looked deep in thought, her dark brown hair had flowed so perfectly around her face. Her pink lips parted slightly as she was examining my features just as easily i was hers.

suddenly her loud phone ringing brought us back to reality, as we realized how close we had gotten to one another, she pulled her face away from mine as she blushed profusely.

i even felt my own cheeks tint as i thought about what could've happened if that phone didn't ring.

she jumped off the couch as she ran to  the kitchen grabbing her phone off the counter answering the call cheerfully.

"Hey Cole!" she said into the phone, i couldn't help but ease drop.

"oh, not much just watching some movies with a friend." she said simply, she smiled at me from the kitchen as i waved back cheekily.

"right now?" she asked her smile dropping slightly as her eyes locked with me, i arched an eyebrow.

"oh uhh, sure i guess." she said with a small laugh.

"yeah i'll see you soon!" she said before hanging up the phone, i frowned slightly and looked down as she walked back over to me plopping beside me with a sigh.

"Im so sorry." was all she said, i let out a chuckle at her exasperated sigh.

"for?"

"my neighbor Cole is coming over." she muttered under her breath.

"what you don't like him or something?" i asked curiously, she shook her head playing with her fingers.

"no i was just looking forward to spending my time with you." she said quietly finally meeting my gaze as she smiled at me softly.

"i could say the same." i said back to her just before the doorbell rang.

"thats him." she said and rolled her eyes making me laugh slightly as she got up to open the door.

As soon as she opened the door, a boy with dark hair walked through pulling her into a big hug.

"hello beautiful."

i don't like him already.
