"You're worth nothing to me!"

Michael stood in the living room on his and Jeremy's shared home. The two have been together for years now, and they were happily living as a couple together. They never left New Jersey, though they're planning to when they have enough money. ...Or so Michael thought...

"Useless piece of shit!"

In front of him, Jeremy stood with balled fists and tears streaming down his cheeks. They had gotten into the biggest fight that they have ever been in. And Michael blamed himself.

"You were supposed to be there for me!" Jeremy yelled. "You said you'd help me though anything! Yet you just got up and left!"

Michael didn't look at Jeremy. He stared at the other's feet instead, his bangs falling in his eyes. He was afraid that if he looked up at the other, he'd break down as well.

"Look at me, dammit!" Jeremy grabbed Michael by the shoulders roughly.

Jeremy growled, his teary eyes narrowing at Michael. You could tell he was beyond pissed.

Jeremy let out a few sobs as he said, "why? Why won't you just say something to me?!"

Michael tried to stay something, but no words would escape his lips. He looked at Jeremy, tears slipping down his own freckly cheeks. He was shaking terribly in Jeremy's grasp. Suddenly, Jeremy let go of Michael, but not without giving him a hard shove. Michael fell back into the glass coffee table, shattering it. He winced at the agonizing pain in his hand that had tried to stop him from falling, but only got impaled with glass.

"Fine, asshole!" Jeremy backed away from the confused and hurt male that he used to call his lover. "What's it matter, right? It's not like I was counting on you for help!"

Jeremy opened the front door, stepping out. He glared back at Michael before saying the final words that left his mouth before he slammed the door shut and left the other all alone in the silence of what used to be their shared home.

"I hope you're happy."

Michael woke up in a cold sweat. He clutched his t-shirt help, trying to catch what breath he had lost. It wasn't until then, he realized that tears were pouring from his eyes, soaking his cheeks. He looked at his shaky hands, swallowing. He jumped when he felt a hand on his back.

"Michael..?"

Michael knew the voice well. It was Jeremy's. He sounded tired, yet very concerned. Michael looked over, a small whimper escaping his lips. Jeremy immediately took action when he realized Michael was crying. He wrapped his arms around the smaller male's waist, pulling him close. Michael buried his face in Jeremy's chest, clutching a fistful of Jeremy's shirt in his hand. Jeremy began whispering sweet nothings in his lover's ear as he lightly rubbed Michael's back.

Eventually, Michael managed to calm down. He told Jeremy about his nightmare, and as he did so, he was slowly becoming choked up again. Jeremy frowned and hugged Michael close.

"It was just a nightmare, Mikey," Jeremy murmured, "it'll be okay."

Michael looked up at Jeremy, sniffling.

"But what if it really happens?" he asked. "What if I mess up so bad that... that you leave?"

Jeremy smiled reassuringly at Michael and shook his head.

"It won't," Jeremy whispered, kissing Michael's forehead, "I promise."

Michael smiled weakly, sighing a bit. Then suddenly, he perked up. He looked up at Jeremy with big eyes. Jeremy was singing him a lullaby. His cheeks flushed a dark shade of red at this. The way the words rolled off his tongue and the melody of the song made him relax.

It only took a few minutes for Michael to fall back asleep in Jeremy's arms. Jeremy let out a relieved sigh and smiled softly. He pecked Michael's head, nuzzled him lightly.

"Goodnight, Mikey.." he murmured quietly.

Soon after, Jeremy fell back asleep as well.
