Leo's POV

"I think I lost him," I say, stopping for a quick rest on the street corner, "Damn that run was tiring. I have to get back home to mom and Sophia. But I would be seen on the streets... and someone may know that police officer. I better take a safer route."

I head down the street and down the nearest alleyway, jumping up on and then climbing up the ladder to the roof. I back up on the roof of the building I'm on and run forward, jumping the gap. This way isn't really "safer" but it'll keep me from getting found. I continue to jump the roofs until I see the girl I saw earlier walking on the streets. I really want to go talk to her and say sorry for running into her, but I decide not to. I don't want to be seen as a stalker or something. Plus, I need to get home as quick as possible, and small talk isn't really my thing.

I keep going, and it seems like the girl and I are headed in the same direction. When I reach my street, I see the girl go into a townhouse about 5 over from mine. How did she make it there before me, I'll never know. But what I do know is she's most likely just visiting, because I know everyone that lives on my street and I have never seen her before. Well, before I ran straight into her.

I jump down from the shortest roof I can find, and land perfectly on my feet. I then begin to walk, hands in my pockets, to my townhouse. When I reach the front door, I open it and see my mom and little sister Sophia in the living room watching TV.

"Leonardo! What took you so long to come home! I was worried," my mom says, standing up from her position of sitting on the couch.

"Oh... it was nothing," I say, trying my hardest to seem believable.

Just a run in with the police.

"Well ok then. Your sister wanted to go to the park. Can you take her for me?" my mom asks, sitting back down on the couch and crossing her legs.

"Not now mom... I uhh... I have some homework to do. Bye!" I say, sprinting upstairs.

"Homework? But it's summer!" she yells, and I reach my room and shut the door. That was close.

I wander around my room aimlessly for a bit, looking at all of my things. Shoes, boring, pile of clothes and sports equipment, boring, actual homework that I still haven't done and summer started a month ago, boring. Almost everything in here is boring! I eventually decide to just read, so I grab a random book off of my shelf and open it up, losing myself in a magical world called Prythian.
