The bell had rung, signaling to all the students that it was finally time for lunch. A small passed through my lips in relief, knowing that more than half of the school was over. Taking out into the piece of paper in my hand, I walked through the halls, scanning the numbers plastered on them. I smiled as I saw the number '216,' beginning to fumble with the locker combo.
Three 0's, 03, 30, 04.
I shoved all of my textbooks and whatnot inside the locker, closing it and locking it once more. Running in the direction of the cafeteria, I smiled as I noticed Alex and Haylie waited in the entrance. Smiling to myself, I quickened my pace until I was right in front of them, all three of us heading inside and grabbing our lunch.
Following Haylie and Alex, I noticed that we passed a part of the building that had a sign saying 'do not trespass.'
"Are we allowed to be here?" I asked curiously, already sitting down and eating my food. They nodded.
"Privileges. If you're responsible and the teachers know that, you aren't really in trouble for doing things as small as this," Haylie pointed out as she bit into her brownie, Alex nodded before munching into her sandwich. "It's abusing it a little, but in the end, I'd rather spend my time here than on that side of the cafeteria," Haylie muttered pointing to the noisy building.
"Outside is quieter, as long you're near the building we don't get in trouble much. The teachers would rather watch them than us."
"You should join a club (Y/n)!" Alex said as she stood up, changing the subject. "You can join art, or drama, or basketball, or volleyball, or choir, or band~" Alex trailed on excitedly while saying every club.
She's not quiet now...
I thought as Haylie smiled. "So will you consider joining one?" I hummed in delight at the thought of it for a few seconds. "I'll take that into consideration."
"Cool, both Alex and I are in some clubs. Student government and basketball being the biggest ones, really."
As we finished our food and returned our trays to the bin, there were a series of boys and girls heading over our way. The girls, giggling maniacally as they clutched on the boys (as if their lives depended on it, honestly), whispering to each other. I gagged in disgust,
No PDA in school! You're too young! And dumb! With your IQ I'm not entirely sure you can spell the word love...
As we headed back to the exit of the cafeteria, once again, the group seemed to be following after us, and as we stopped to sit down on one of the outdoor stone benches, I noticed that a spark of jealously seemed to flash in their eyes, as well as sorrow.
Did something happen?
As my mind began to wander, I was brought back to reality when someone coughed, and as I looked up, my suspicions were correct. They were following us, apparently.
"You're not allowed here," Haylie spoke viciously, swinging her leg over the other, resting her head on her elbow. "You have to eat inside the cafeteria."
"Well, we were allowed before, weren't we?" Namjoon pointed out, shifting the weight of from one foot to the other, crossing his arms over his chest. The girl next to him seemed to grin, smirking down at the three of us as she whispered something into his ear. Despite the horrid scene, my mind began to turn.
Did he say were?
"Doesn't matter if you were, you aren't now, so beat it!" Alex defended, eyeing each of the girls standing in front of them.
"Well that doesn't matter anymore, we're still friends aren't we?" Jimin mocked, "As you liked to put it." Haylie laughed bitterly, rolling her eyes as the tips of her mouth curved.
"No. You chose what you wanted to become, as did we."
I stared off into space, completely unaware of the situation in front of me, racking my mind of the possibility of them no each other, though of course, it's still only the first day I knew any of them. It seemed that my first day is just filled with drama, wasn't it?
"Look at (Y/N), she looks dazed. Maybe the two of you are draining her, wouldn't doubt it... with the way you two are. She doesn't even know what's going on, poor girl," a girl next to Yoongi ridiculed, sticking out her tongue.
I'm gonna cut your tongue off soon...
"I may be confused of the situation, but do now what I'm not confused about is the type of people you all are! Honestly! The amount of fakeness and judgment from all of you is so much it makes me sick." I said to them, not exactly filtering nor processing any of the words coming out of my mouth. At that point, it seemed that I was much more opinionated than I believed.
Suddenly the girl connected to Yoongi broke off from him, arm raised as she charged closer to me. As her hand began to come down, I grabbed her wrist, staring into your eyes while tilting my head to the side in annoyance. Pushing her back slightly, she screamed as she fell to the ground, adding to my annoyance.
"Ae!" Everyone apart of their group screamed, the girls rushing to her side and raising her from the ground. As they did so, they sent me glares, though I knew that she had faked being injured, as well as the amount of force I pushed her.
The other girls seemed to retort, coming closer to me as they began to scream nonsense. Before I could react, both Haylie and Alex stepped forward, blocking them for their view.
"Listen, you... cretans!" Haylie sneered as she looked at all of them one-by-one maliciously.
"Last warning, leave (Y/N) alone. Or you deal with us," Alex turned first and grabbed my arm, walking in the opposite direction from them, ignoring the girl's yelling of coming back.
As we were in the clearing, I hugged them quickly.
"Thanks for that," they both nodded, smiling.
"What a CAT-astrophic lunch huh?" Haylie yelled as I rolled my eyes.
"Again, terrible pun." Haylie pouted, before throwing her hands into the air.
"Hey, when you can do a better one, I'll stop."
The bell rung and lunch was now over...
What a TEAR-able first day of school. I thought as I walked to my next class. I can make a better pun than Haylie after all...
