I used to really like this ship until I actually read both GSC arc and HGSS arc.
After I read it, I realized how most of their interactions can be interpreted as (and in my opinion, are) platonic. Reading the manga just turned me to PreciousMetalShipping more than enhance my interest on MangaQuestShipping, which honestly, made me less attached to the ship.
When compared to PreciousMetal, MangaQuest doesn't leave a lasting impression and neither Crystal nor Gold really help in the other's development. I actually felt like SpecialJewelShipping was more influential.
I also think Gold lusting over Crystal is a little OOC, as I have always seen Gold having too much respect for Crystal as a friend to see her as a romantic partner. Crystal having feelings for Gold seems plausible, but I highly doubt Gold returning those feelings. They look cute though. Admittedly, if they had a child it would be adorable.
