Hey, the first boyxboy that's actually a chapter!
Anyways, this is my favorite Ash ship. It serves as a counterpart to one of my favorite game ships (NamelessShipping) and it lives up to its predecessor.
Ash and Gary started off as friends, but after an argument about a Pokéball, they became rivals. Throughout the anime, Gary was treating Ash like a jerk, but slowly starts to cherish his relationship with him again.
While Ash didn't take Gary's change too well, he still cared about him despite the rivalry.
This is seriously one of the gayest ships out there, and I love it because of that. I don't usually ship yaoi as my main ship but this is one of the few exceptions.
The hints are beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. From the funny ones such as the 'state of depression' that Brock does, to the more heartfelt ones like the halved PokéBall and the small chat under the stars. Gary really seems to care about Ash a lot and vice versa. Even Professor Oak and Delia notices this. There's also the fact that Ash started travelling Hoenn because he wants to be like Gary and started travelling Sinnoh because Gary himself is going there. Sad that a lot of the hints were removed in the dub, though. But considering it's Pokémon's infancy, it's pretty understandable.
