Okay, prior to reading the Johto arcs, I didn't really ship this hardcore. I just thought they were 2 handsome boys with opposite personalities that are in a relationship. I thought that was cute, but at the time I was a rather big MangaQuestShipper.
But when I finished reading the Johto arcs (and the Emerald arc)....HOLY COW my opinion changed.
I absolutely love these two. It's both my manga BROTP and my 3rd favorite ship in the manga. (EDIT: It's been a year or two and this pairing is my absolute favorite! It's my OTP in the entirety of the Pokémon franchise (probably other than NamelessShipping)).
My favorite hint was in the Emerald chapter, when Gold completely ignores the other petrified DexHolders and immediately runs to a petrified Silver, holding Silver's hand and promising to save them. This hint sold me to the ship. It really shows how far their relationship has gone through.
Silver really opened up and started caring for Gold to the point that he looked worried and devastated during Gold's fight with the Masked Man.
Who says Gold can't be bisexual?
