HAPPY? MAYBE.

She walked with so much grace and had eyes brighter than the stars. She smiled cheekily and brightly. She made people's head turn to look at her a second or even third time.

She looked happy.

Outside, she looked like sunshine couldn't compete with her brightness. She looked like she had the best life, but she would beg to differ.

She was many things, but happy? No, she was not happy. She was stuck in her room for months, unable to find the courage to leave. She was facing depression and did not believe in cures at that time. The only thing she believed in was that she would never get better. Never.

She was not fond of socializing nor eating. She didn't see the joy in doing anything except sleeping, and thinking. She always had a "logical" explanation for things. She saw everything rationally and she always asked, "why?"

But that was before she met him. The person who changed her life. The person who actually made her get out of her room and forget who she was. He made her think less, and forget more. Maybe, just maybe, he made her happy.

She loved him. Did he like her back? Maybe. She didn't know. She didn't particularly care because she believed he could make her smile, make her the happiest woman on earth. And he did. He made her smile and made her look like the happiest woman on earth. That's what he did, he made her look happy. But was she happy? No.

He told her he loved her, then beat her up the next second. He said he wanted to be with her, then trapped her after. He said so many lies, and she believed in them. Every single time, she took the chance, the risk, to trust in him. Because maybe she had to wait. Maybe he would change. So she did, but he didn't.

The one-sided love turned into mutual hate, and she realized it too late. She was already bruised and hurt. She was in despair, once again, but this time, it was different. She didn't lock herself up in her room. Instead, she kept her chin up, and faced the world.

She walked with so much grace and had eyes brighter than the stars. She smiled cheekily and brightly. She made people's head turn to look at her a second or even third time.

But it was all an act. She looked happy. But in fact, she was never happy.
