@AbusedTeen: I'm an 18 year old who has endured 10 years of abuse from her father. Most times, when I think of killing myself I remember the promise I made to my mom on her deathbed. I promised to take care of my dad. She told me he was terrible at grieving and that I should never take what he does to heart. However, it has been ten years and things haven't changed. I don't know if he realizes that I also lost my mother that day. I just want the abuse to end. I can't press charges because there is no evidence. It will be my word against his. And he is a man of good standing in our community.
Nicole: You need to get out of that house before you end up dead. You are old enough to leave. I don't think enduring ten years of abuse is what your mom meant when she said you should take care of your dad. I bet your mom would want you to be happy. That is what all parents wants and it's sad that your dad doesn't see what he is doing is causing you grief.
