Clementine's POV:
The eerie darkness of this night, would never escape my memory. I would clearly remember the pitch-black curtain draped over the sky, and the twisted, wrapped shapes that the stars made against the blackness. The milky speckles twirled and danced along the sky in various patterns, tugging at the corners of my lips in a way that almost made me smile. It was hard to shove aside the worries corrupting my mind, but eventually, I stopped walking over the rough gravel below my feet and just... Stopped thinking. I was alone. Nothing from my past could touch me. And I'd make sure not a single thing could harm both me and AJ. I stared up at the sky that was once an ocean-blue shade, and just studied the silver glow of the moon. She smiled down at me with love so intense it had warmed my soul like a fireplace on a cold winter's night. And there I was, standing in the middle of the road at midnight, trying to escape the thought of... Lee. Not wanting to do anything but cry. But the look that the moon gave me, didn't cause the storm to go on inside of me. Instead, a hot blue fire flickered in my heart and soon started to grow, eating at all of the dark emotions in my path. My worries burned away, and the tears that were starting to form at the corners of my eyes, melted down my cold face with a rush of relief.
Crying felt good, especially when they were tears that I didn't want to push away. They weren't drops of sorrow, no. They were more like the feelings of joy, relief, happiness and freedom streaming away from my hurt eyes. They were temporary cleaners to wash away the pain. I never cried just out of the blue, it just wasn't me. But this night, under the protection of millions of stars and the beautiful moon, I felt like I could let the floodgates open with a single snap of my fingers. I stared up at the sky and continued to let my pain run away for a moment. The cold midnight waves rolled in and left me with a spin shivering sensation as I stood there, not ever wanting the night to end.
"Cwem." AJ said with a gigantic frown.
"I'm okay, goofball." I smiled softly back at the toddler.
After, I began thou journey back to Richmond.
Time skip~
4 hours later, I ended up at the gates of Richmond. I wasn't backing down, I knew deep down that I belonged here. Did I make the right decision? Probably not, but I'd do anything just to be with Gabe again. I had got butterflies every time I was around him, he'd make me smile... Along with blushing at certain points. And all of that, added up to me leaving. After everything he has done for me, I just up and left. I had walked on out of his life, so I thought I did.
When I first saw Gabe, I was honestly afraid to meet him, knowing he'd probably die just like everyone else I loved. When I met Gabe, I was afraid to kiss him. But when I kissed him before I left, I was afraid to fall head over heals for him. And now that I love him... I'm afraid of losing him.

As I was finishing up eating, I heard something along the lines of, "There is some girl with a toddler at our gates."
At that moment, my eyes had widened and I stopped eating instantly to go join Kate at the door. There, I saw that my step mom was talking to one of the guards.
I just stood there listening to their conversation as I thought about how that girl could be Clem, and that toddler could be AJ. I had high hopes, but then again, it could've been anyone.
Once Kate was done talking with the guard, she called for Javi as she closed the door behind her.
"Javi!"
"Yeah?"
"I was just informed by one of our guards, that there is a girl and a toddler at the gates." Kate started. "And the guard would like it if we'd go check it out considering you are the leader of Richmond."
"Sure thing." Javi said as he made his way to the door.
As Kate left to go with Javi to the gates, I followed behind.
"Oh. Hey, Gabe." Kate said.
"Hey, Kate." I replied.
"Look, I would rather you stay behind."
"What! Why?" I questioned her.
"Because, Gabe." She started. "We don't know who could be behind that gate. It could be anyone, you shouldn't just assume that it is Clementine. For all we know, that could be someone who is looking to cause trouble. So please just listen to me and head back to the house."
"No, Kate! How many times do I have to remind you that I can take care of myself?!"
"Gabe!" She raised her voice a little.
Before she could say anything else, Javi had interrupted her.
"Hey!" My uncle yelled. "We have someone waiting behind that gate, and ya'll choose to stand back and argue?"
"Javi, I don't want Gabe tagging along with us."
"So what you're telling me, is a 14-year-old boy can't take care of himself? Because last time I checked, Gabe can handle himself pretty well." Javi assured her.
"Javi, that's not what I'm saying. I understand he can take care of himself, It's just, I don't want to risk he's life to whoever is behind that gate."
"He'll be fine, I won't let anything happen to him. Plus, we have plenty of guards at the gate."
"Okay, but I'm warning you, Javi. Anything happens to him, and I mean anything! I'll never forgive you."
Javi nodded in agreement, as I just stood there glaring at my step mom.
Then we started heading towards the gate.

Clementine's POV:
I tossed AJ up into the air as I waited to get "approval" before I could go into Richmond.
10 minutes later, I heard the gate slowly open.
On walked out Javi.
"Clementine? I thought you were leaving?" Javi questioned.
"Yeah, I was supposed to leave for Olympia. But when driving, I started thinking about... Richmond... About how I wanted to come back." I said as I stared down at the ground.
"Well, you're always welcomed here."
"Thanks, Javi." I said looking up at him and smiling from one ear to the other.
He nodded as saying, "No problem."
Once me and Javi were done with our conversation, he signaled for me to come in, so, I did as he said.
As the gate started slowly closing, I heard a familiar voice... A voice I've been awaiting to hear.
"CLEMENTINE!!!!"
I turned around to see Gabe quickly approaching me, I couldn't help but smile.
"Hey, Gabe."
When he finally got to me, he lifted me up and spun me around.
