Growing,
One by one.
Side by side.
We danced in the breeze and soaked up the sun.
Yes,
Us trees had the greatest ease.
But!
One day we were ambushed!
Steel and metal aliens came our way.
The smoke from the roaring monsters filled the sky.
Our bird friends tried to flee,
But couldn't fly.
Armageddon has come.
We all wondered where these horrifying creatures came from.
We knew it was the end.
And when it was all said and done,
We knew humans weren't actually our friends.
