"He says he's checked himself into a mental health facility."

Brendon looked up in disbelief. "He- what? Why?" Brendon asked.

"I'm afraid he's been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder," Ms. Jackson began, "it's been uncontrolled for awhile, which partially explains his unstable moods or impulsive behaviour."

Brendon sat there, taking all of this information in. He was clearly very understanding of people with mental disorders; his boyfriend had general anxiety disorder, and he used to have depression after his dad left. Brendon couldn't help but feel sorry for Dallon, even after anything. But that didn't mean he was ready to forgive him.

"Now, the reason I'm telling you this, Brendon, is because Dallon confessed to all of the things he's done to you this school year." The principal continued. Everything? Brendon thought, god, do they know I had sex in the bathroom?

When Brendon didn't respond, Ms. Jackson sighed and continued. "Including his attempt to force himself on you at a party last week."

Brendon had almost forgot about that. Okay, that's a lie, considering on Sunday night after the party he did break down in Ryan's arms,  confessing how scared he was and how it mildly traumatized him. But at this point, he had blocked it out until now.

"Oh yeah, that..." Brendon trailed off, nerves uneasy.

Ms. Jackson placed her folded hands on the desk in front of her and let out a breath before continuing. "As I'm sure you know, Brendon, this is a very serious offence. Dallon is legally an adult at age 18, but the penalties for attempted rape are almost the same as punishment for completed rape, which means he could serve serious jail time."

Brendon nodded his head and gulped, trying to take in all of this information. What, it was ten in the morning and his principal was telling him intricate legal information? He'd rather be in math class.

"But that's only if you choose to press charges," she continued, "do you wish to press charges, Brendon?"

Now, Brendon was completely perplexed and astonished. He didn't want to send anyone to jail. Brendon was really unsure of what to do or how to handle the situation. He had to have time to think about it.

"Um, I don't know, ma'am," he spoke. Ms. Jackson nodded her head in understanding.

The news of Dallon's mental disorder made him even more unsure of what to do. What if Dallon could make a new life for himself and be a decent guy?

"I'll give you some time to make up your mind, Brendon," Ms. Jackson agreed, "but you have to know that it's better to report the assault right away rather than in the future. You're free to go."

Brendon nodded his head and began walking out of the office before being stopped by his principal's voice.

"Also, Brendon, may I remind you our bathrooms may be used for their intended purposes only," she casually spoke, "let your friend Mr. Ross know that as well."

Brendon's face turned beet red before replying. "Yes, Ms. Jackson, sorry!"

He walked out of their faster than he's ever left a place in his entire life.

------------------------------

Brendon returned to his classroom and had a very uneasy feeling in his stomach. He felt guilty, and he hadn't done anything wrong. There was a guy in a mental health facility because of him. Missing school because of him.

But Brendon knew it would help Dallon get better. Brendon was a caring person. He wanted people to feel okay. The only problem was Brendon had to decide whether or not to press charges.
