My life is the worst.

So, apparently, my dad's job split into half; one half stays and the other half moves to Australia.

My dad just happened to be in the half that is going to Australia.

I would love to explore Australia, but not that time. I couldn't leave all the persons I love.

Chris.

Eva.

Brandon.

They are really important persons to me. How was I going to tell them this horrible news?

I got out of my car and headed for the main entrance. When I got to my locker, I checked my schedule and sighed when I realized I gym class first.

I closed my locker and turned around to be face to face with Chris. He smiled at me and guilt just started to eat my up.

But of course, Chris knew me too well to know that something was up. "What's wrong?" He asked. I kept my eyes on the ground, not wanting to tell him what was wrong.

"Nothing." I said in a hushed tone.

He gently put his fingers on my chin and tilted my head to look up at him. He looked at me. "What's wrong?" He asked again.

I forced a smile and pressed my lips on his. I pulled away and he seemed as if he still didn't believe me. "I have to get to class." I said.

He sighed and looked at his watch. "You still have fifteen minutes."

"Chris......."

"You've been blowing me off alot lately." He looked in my eyes. He was right. I was blowing him off alot. But I had a reason.

Education.

But that time, I was just blowing him off to protect him. Not hurt him.

"I know and I'm really sorry for doing that. It's just....."

"Vanessa!" My other best friend, Eva, came running up to me and Chris.
Eva is hispanic with long chocolate hair. She is a bit short like me; 5'2.

When she saw Chris, she stopped. "Is this a bad time?" She asked.

I looked at Chris and he shook his head. "No. Go on. It wouldn't be the first time you've blown me off for her."

"Chris, don't be like that." I said.

His angry face softened. He smiled at me and rested his hand on my cheek. "It's okay. I have practice today but I'll call you." He kissed my cheek before joining his football friends who were waiting for him the whole time.

"Wasn't he angry a while ago?" Eva asked and I turned my attention to her.

"What's up?" I asked, completely ignoring her question.

She shook her head and looked at me. "I'm gonna try out for the cheerleading team."

I shrugged. "Go for it."

She rolled her eyes. "You're doing doing it too, dummy."

My eyes widen. "I don't do cheering."

"You did it in freshman year. That's how Chris noticed you." She blurted.

"Really? He said he always saw me in his English class." I reminded her.

"You both were on the field either way." She said.

I chuckled and made my way to the gym.

I sat beside Chris, put my lunch on the table and immediately went on my phone.
