My Marine

Chapter 10

I wake up overheated, but peacefully unaware of my surroundings at first. Unaware that the pillow I was laying on was a man, unaware that I was completely naked and completely oblivious to the fact that last night had been the best night sleep I have had in a very long time. That is until I hear a chuckle and notice the pillow I was laying on was a shoulder. 

"You are so peaceful in your sleep Melody." Troy mumbles and I look up at him my red hair falling everywhere around me in waves. I search his face for any indication that he regretted last night and found none. I searched for proof that he loved me. That is if was he said wasn't just my tired and emotional brain playing tricks on me.  "You don't have to search baby, I do not regret last night not In the slightest." He says combing his fingers through my hair. 

"I.....thank you I guess.?" I mumble out and he laughs. 

"Why are you thanking me, for mind blowing love making?" He says laughing. 

"No, oi marine. I'm thanking you for being there, protecting me, making me feel........ loved." I say burying my face into his arm. 

"No Melody, thank you for saving me. Giving me a purpose. We marines will fight to the death but we have to have something to fight for. When I came to your center I had nothing to fight for I had lost everything, my best friend, my girlfriend, my father disowned me for joining the Corps. When I lost the Corps I lost everything. You have given me everything, a reason to fight." He says leaning down and kissing me gently on the lips. "I am already in love with you." He says looking me right in the eyes. 

"Im definitely not dreaming now." I mumble before climbing onto his chest. I lean over him my hair draping around his face. When my lips meet his everything else fades away and if just us and for the first time in a long time I feel whole. When our lips part we are breathless and completely oblivious to everything but each other. 

I climb off him and curl into his side. Until I hear my phone go off. I turn to the bed side table and grab my phone and answer it without looking at the caller id. 

"Dr. Melody Ace." I say in my professional tone. 

"Sweetie are you gonna explain to me why Mr. Shepard missed his first counciling appointment and why your not back yet?" I hear the sweet southern voice of our very own queen of hearts. 

"I have a very good explanation." I state a grin appearing on my face "but I'm going to need to schedule an appointment with you." I say giggling at the end and I look up at Troy and he's barely containing his laughter. 

"Oh really how about pizza and a beer tonight at my house?" She says. I let out my laughter and agree quickly hanging up right before Troy starts to laugh too. 

"So your leaving me for pizza and a beer?" He asks barely containing his laughter. 

"If I don't meet her tonight it will get much worse from here." I say giggling. 

"What are you gonna tell her?" He asks stroking my hair gently pulling out the knots. 

"I don't know, I'm not entirely sure what this is?" I say motioning between us. "But whatever it is I'm ok with it." I say reaching up and kissing him on the lips. 

"Even if this makes you my girlfriend?" He says gesturing as I did. A huge smile graces my face as I think about what that would mean. 

"Im ok with that if your ok with being my boyfriend?" I say and I see the mischief in his eyes. 

"Are we making deals because I would love to add daily kisses into the mix" He says laughing the sound filling the room and I can't help but broaden my own smile. He stops and I kiss him again before we both start laughing.
