Silence.
Nothing too much, Nothing too little, in fact there is nothing at all.
Just plain and pure and painful silence.

The tapping noise of pen hitting table, the normal beeping of electronics, the humming of air vents and the casual, hopeless sighs.
The room is perfectly lit, showing white walls and white floor, impeccably polished and cleaned to perfection; albeit, the strong smell of cleaning liquid used siftting through the air but still dutifully ignored.
There are much more important matters.
And no one could dare contend, eyes trained only to the subject on the other side of the shaded plexiglass, a heap of flesh bound by skin, snoring soflty, seemingly the only one comfortable with the silence.

Beep... Beep... Beep.. Beep. Beep. Beep.
The beeping had suddenly quickened, alarming everyone of the changes occuring, One pair of ebony eyes snapping into the observation chamber, staring... and only staring.
Beep, Beep, Beep
The pace, only stumbling on itself, coming to a rush, and the -
BEEP ! BEEP ! BEEP !
ERRNGNHK ! ERRNGHNK !
There eyes shift to the new sound being bellowed by the vital signs equipment and shuddering at its every single wail, it was a sound they must never hear, and should they ever, can only mean something bad.
BEEP ! BEEP ! BEEP !
ERRNGNHK ! ERRNGHNK !
"Dr. Reyes ! The sedative !"
"NO!"
"What !? if dont move now, we might lose him !"
"Lose? What can we possibly lose!?"
BEEP ! BEEP ! BEEP !
ERRNGNHK ! ERRNGHNK !
His brows furrowing, looking furious at the words, but returns his gaze to the body of the boy, now writhing and gyrating furiously, hands balled into fists, gripping the sheets and bead-like sweats carelessly forming and making their way down his frailly beautiful features.
BEEP ! BEEP ! BEEP !
ERRNGNHK ! ERRNGHNK !
"We never had him at all... Not at all"
He knew the words were painful, and yet they we're true. Maybe that is why they hurt.
BEEP ! BEEP ! BEEP !
ERRNGNHK ! ERRNGHNK !
It alarmed again, breaking whatever temporary solace that dwelled and the emergency suddenly fell to them, the urgency rising and hearts beating furiously against their chest
"Dr. Vallejo ! His Brain Activity"
"Its - It seems to be - oh my god "
"What !? "
"It's RISING !"
With this, the other doctors scrambled and scurried to Dr. Vallejo's side who holds the digital chart in her shaking hands, some unsure of what they heard and some anxious of what would happen next, but Dr. Reyes, head of the department and research, stood his place a knowing smirk attempting to ap-
BEEP ! BEEP ! BEEP !
ERRNGNHK !
"I know what youre thinking Dr. Reyes ! but - but his vital - his heart, it might collapse ! If you want to save him, you have to let me sedate him now !"
"And if i don't want to save him?"
"Wha- what do you mean !?"
"We can't do anything now - only he can save himself now"
And as if on cue, the frantic beeping and the urgent alarm comes to an abrupt stop.
And followed by silence.
The once twitching and quivering body, now slumped back to its bed, huffing and panting loudly, wet and tired. and soon after goes back to snoring.

The doctor with black eyes, now alone, after sending everyone to away, now collapses in his chair and release a short huff, the sound grappling its way through the noise of electronics(now seemed music to his ears), before fading.
"I heard the alarm is everything okay"
"Never better"
"I know that look"
"Wlhat look?"
"That one, written all over your face. Look's like your giving up"
"Weve worked so hard on this, almost two years! and still no sign of anything! Its useless!"
"Now, now. you've seen his vital signs and you know he's getting better!, and you've known how different he was the first day we had him here! And you promised you would help him" She pauses, waiting for him to turn to her and look her in the eyes "or DIE trying. Remember?"
He turns away staring back at the object or person beyond the glass, allowing the last words to echo off his busy mind. If there was anything about his superior, it was that she knows him like the back of her mind and how could she no-
"Go to sleep"
"What ?"
"You heard me,GO.TO.SLEEP"
"I dont need to- "
"Thas wasn't a suggestion. I'll look over him for you"
And he knew right there, it was the end of the conversation, so he stands, placing his glasses and the chart on the table. Goes over to his superior and hugs her tighly.
"The was quite a risk you took today, hun. It scared lot of peopel around here" She whispers
"I know, but I just wanted to find out" He says as they pull away
"Well, whatever it is, I just wish it's worth all this." She pauses, eyes shifting to the boy "And he'll wake up soon"
"I hope so mom, I hope so."
"Goodnight"
He smiles, but doesn't respond, letting the word flit around, before the entire room falls again to a familiar pit of - silence.
