"Melody! You okay?!" I shouted, propping her against a wall. Her eyes fluttered open for a second before closing again, a moan escaping her lips.

She was still clutching her neck tightly with both hands, and it was scaring me to death. What was she trying to do? Kill herself?

"Melody! What's wrong!" I shouted again, desperate to do something. I swallowed back a sob when she suddenly hunched over and groaned in pain.

Her mouth slowly opened, and I leaned in closer to hear what she was going to say.
"G-gummy Bears..." she whispered.

I quickly searched my bag for a pack of gummy Bears (which I usually bring along for situations like this) and tore it open, dumping a handful into my palms. I was about to drop one into her mouth, but she said," Only the blue ones."

I didn't know how that was going to make a difference, but I did it anyways. The moment the gummy bear was dropped into her open mouth, she bolted right up. I screamed in shock and fell backwards.

"I feel alive! I feel refreshed! I feel.... awesome!" Melody announced to the world loudly, standing up and stretching her limbs like she wasn't just dying a minute ago. I didn't know how she manages that, but hell was I Glad she did.

I stood up and hugged her. "Melody! You just worried me to death!" I said tearing up.

She grinned like an idiot. "Thanks. That's what best friends do." She said, hugging me back. I wanted to punch her, but I was too happy to do anything.

"What happened back there?" I asked, pointing at the door that led to the room full of animals.
Melody scratched her head.

"I don't know. One moment, we were on our way to the water distribution sector, and then the next moment, Ms Xatia just suddenly dropped to the ground and..." Melody didn't finish the sentence, her face paling up. I didn't need to hear the end anyways.

Immediately, she started patting herself at parts of her body. "Oh no...no no no no NO!" Melody stuttered.

"What?! What's happening?!" I asked frightened.

She rolled up her jacket sleeves to reveal her arms. Except they were covered in gray fur.

I gasped in shock. So it wasn't all my imagination! I patted myself to make sure I wasn't infected. No signs of fur, or tail, or abnormal animal body parts on my body.

"Oh shut! What do we do now?!" I asked, glancing around the empty hallway we were in. The door we had came in by earlier started banging. Knocks and pushes could be heard. I hoped that the lock could keep the door closed. I wasn't going to allow a bunch of were animals chasing after us.

"Let's get out of here." Melody suggested, rolling down her sleeves. We ran around the hallway, looking for exits, and came pass the room August, Lucas and I were previously in. Were they turned into crazy animals too?

I went into the room just to check if there were anyone. Sure enough, a couple of students were huddled in a corner. There were about 15 of them They quickly glanced up in fear, but relief washed over their faces when they realised it was just me and Melody.

"Close the door, quickly." An all to familiar voice said. It was August's. I turned to see him crouching over Francis, who was passed out against a wall. Melody quickly turned to their direction as if she was worried about something, and looked like she wanted to tear up. She must have remembered what happened to her.

I shut the door and remembered to lock it. I wasn't sure the door would be able to endure crazy animal attacks, but I had to hope it would. And then what. We stay here and starve to death?
