At the front of the animals was a familiar cheetah, shreds of clothes still hanging on its body. Behind were around 5 animals, a wolf, a tiger, a bear and 2 hyenas.
I didn't expect so little animals. There were many more people who had started changing earlier. Where they were I didn't know, but the lesser animals the better.
The cheetah snarled and stalked forward slowly, eyeing everyone in the room. Everyone stood as still as possible, trying not to scream. Good, if someone screamed we would most probably die.
Suddenly, a shrill scream resonated trough the air. Everyone turned to the voice, which came from Serene. There was a moment of silence as the animals stared at her and she stared at them, her eyes wide in fear.
The cheetah pounced, baring its teeth and lashing out its claws. I thought Serene would be done for. Everyone started screaming again and the rest of the animals started going crazy.
The cheetah was about to reach Serene, who was crying and screaming, when it suddenly just dropped to the ground. In a series of seconds, the rest of the animals followed too, dropping onto the ground and lay there unmoving.
I was confused, but relieved. Everyone slowly stopped screaming, but Serene continued to cry. We looked around the room to try to figure out what just happened.
A figure stood at the doorway, holding a gun-like tool in his hands. He stepped inside to reveal himself. The second I saw his face, I knew who he was.
My Father.
"Dad! What are you doing here?!" I shouted, running towards him.
There were murmurs around the room as everyone tried to process what just happened.
"Aria. I knew it would come down to this." My dad said, clutching his tranquilizer. He was still wearing the suit he had wore yesterday, just with claw scratches, blood patches and holes everywhere. This was bad.
"Why-what happened?" I stuttered.
"Ugh. Only that bastard could have come up with something like that." He replied, clutching his right shoulder and wincing.
"What bastard." I asked.
My father's face darkened and he looked around the room, like he was afraid someone else was here. His eyes glowered as he whispered, " James Hunter."
I didn't know who he was talking about, but I noticed blood gushing out of his right shoulder and left knee.
"What happened?" I asked worriedly, helping my Father up as he staggered around and dropped his tranquilizer.
He leaned against the wall and started panting heavily. His face was pale white and he started shaking.
"Someone! Find a first aid kit!" I yelled to everyone who were crowded around me and my dad. A few people looked around the room, but everyone else just looked at us or looked down at their feet. Melody stood next to me, a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"No...no need for that..." my father wheezed, coughing out blood. Not this again. Not my Father too.
"Dad, don't leave me too. Not again, please." I begged, clutching his left hand tightly. He smiled at me, and tears welled up in my eyes.
