Summary:

You have known Jesse since Sectionals, now you are preparing for regionals - you had beaten Vocal Adrenaline, which had gone down very well with the team, but you haven't told anyone you were going to go on a date with Jesse, because that definitely wouldn't go down as well with the team! You are best friends with Rachel which was another reason why you wanted to keep your relationship, if you could call it that, with Jesse on the down low. At sectionals, you had performed a solo of Defying Gravity which everyone said was the reason you won as well as a group performance of Don't Stop Believing, an iconic New Directions number. Everyone thought you were just as good as Rachel but you never had her self-confidence, or well cockiness. You are also a cheerio, somehow you balanced out the social-suicide of being best friends with Rachel by being a cheerleader, that typical high school stereotype.

It was two and a half hours before your and Jesse's date, and you were a tad apprehensive, okay maybe that was a massive understatement. You had tried on 14 different outfits, all of which looking absolutely perfect but to you, none of them were right. You decided to just wear your cheerios uniform, for the fact you couldn't be judged for being over or underdressed - your cheerios uniform was just right. By the time, you had finished your make-up (fixing her eyebrows, adding some blusher, perfecting the winged eyeliner), you were ready. Your heart was racing for some-reason or other as you pulled your hair up into a high-pony and checked yourself in the mirror. You decided not to form an opinion on how you looked for it would only make you attempt to re-think the whole idea and you'd never be ready for your and Jesse's date. Before you had even had the chance to check your phone, you heard a knock on the door. As you made her way down the stairs, you prepared yourself for this to be one stupid, lame, Vocal Adrenaline prank. You took a deep breath before unlocking your door, shocked to see Jesse with a pure smile on his face.

'You look beautiful' Jesse told you with a smirk, 'I like the casual look.'

'Thanks' you blushed 'You don't scrub up too bad yourself!'

'Is that the biggest compliment I'm gonna get?' he asked you, tilting his head slightly.

'Yes it is' you replied smugly, as Jesse led you down to his car.

He opened the door for you and flashed you his oh-so-charming smile, you knew exactly why Rachel had fallen in love with him. The journey flew by as you chatted about anything and everything, from musicals to you pleading him to tell you where their 'surprise' date was.

As they pulled up at Breadstix, you teased 'The traditional first date, Breadstix'.

'Yes, but you make it the most special date they've had yet!' he replied.

'Smooth, Jesse' you smirk at him, a tiny blush creeping into your cheeks.

You had never understood the concept of butterflies in your stomach until now, it felt as if there were not only butterflies but a whole zoo in her stomach.

30 Minutes Later

You and Jesse had got on like a house on fire, just like the first time you met.

'Do you wanna do that cute thing everyone does on first dates where I ask you a bunch of questions?' Jesse asked, hoping to find out some more about you.

'Sure, I guess' you reply, not really wanting to delve into your past.

'So, what do you wanna do when you're older?'

'Well, I'd love to be on broadway!' you answer, shyly.

'God, (Y/N) you're like a prettier and a better singer version of Rachel' he tells you.

You feel a blush creep into your cheeks and a sparkle come into your eyes.

'I think it's my turn to ask a question' you say trying to turn the attention off from you 'What's your favourite film?'

'I've always loved Lady and The Tramp, to be honest.' he answers, 'I've always been a Disney obsessive.'

'Same, though 101 Dalmatians has always been my favourite, when I'm older I definitely want a dalmatian'

After some more chatting, you feel you have really got to know Jesse, and as horrible as he had been to the New Directions, you really feel he's changed.

You reach out to get a breadstick at the same time as he does, you manage to both pick up the same one and meet eyes before creating a perfect re-enactment of the Lady and The Tramp scene, and it felt more right than anything else.

By the time your recreation of the scene had ended, it was almost time for you to get back so Jesse drove you back, you hardly spoke because the evening had just taken your breath away. When you went to get out of his car, he got out and kissed you - just as your parents opened up the door. Your parents weren't too impressed but they didn't want to ruin your romantic moment.

Also I'm so sorry this took so long to post - I had exam revision then my exams and then one of my friends got me addicted to Death Note so I've been really low on time!
