Chapter 7- Break In

It was a good evening, a not so hot weather was outside. Krystin was with Jake and Jenny at Jenny's house to work on a school project. They were having their snacks in the living area, sitting on the sofa during their break from the project, talking about their teachers and soccer practice.

At school after watching her juggling the ball at their soccer practice, Krystin was once asked to join their team also. But she refused it as she chose to concentrate on her studies which was the only way get herself back into Mystic Hollow, her magical world.

They were having fun, Krystin was gazing at the front door, hoping for it to never open as to spend some more time with her friends. But she knew her uncle is never late, he is very punctual and soon will be on the doorstep, to pick her up.

The door bell rang.
Jenny was busy in eating her noodles, Jake rolled his eyes
"I'll see that" jake said.

Another bell.

Krystin got up "may be it's my uncle, I should get my stuff" and they both started to move in their directions but were halted in their place when the bell rang three times in a row.

"Woow...looks like your uncle is really very worried about you" jake giggled.

"Well....Sometimes, he is just more protective" Krystin replied coldly.

The bell rang 4 times in a row.

"Hold on...coming!" Jake yells, by the time Jenny sucked in the last bit of noodle and moves into the kitchen while Jake opens the door. Krystin was helping Jenny in cleaning the mess before she leaves by taking the plates to the kitchen.

Jake opens the door, there was a man standing there.... wearing a big black hat, a grey face mask covering the half of his face and a black overcoat with shiny black boots.
"Hello Mr. Marsh, oh wait.." He looked over his shoulder "Krystin! it's your uncle.." And turns back, facing uncle "umm..Mr.Marsh, don't you think it's a .. U know..a bit warm weather to wear that?" Scanning him from head to toe "nice boots by the way".

"thanks kid" a hoarse voice came from behind the mask.

Krystin walks out of kitchen, towards the door....slowly revealing the black clothed figure on the other side of door and her eyes opened wide.

"Sh-Shut that door, quick!" she yells at Jake.

"But why?" as Jake asked, the Man tried to enter the house but Jake immediately pushed the door at his face. He was trying to close the door but the man kept pushing the door with his shoulders, trying to break in. Krystin ran and pushed the door with all her might. They both were standing against the door and their feet were pushing off the floor, trying to push the door harder with their back to shut it close.

"Your uncle seems very angry" said Jake while struggling with the door.

"He is NOT my Uncle!" She groans.

With every push, the gap between the door and it's frame reduces but that wasn't enough to close it.
As Jenny walks out of the kitchen, she saw them struggling with the door. She quickly moved her eyes and caught a sight of a black figure seen through the small gap.

"Help us!" Krystin cried and Jenny rushed towards them pushing the door with her back and her feet pushing off the floor.

"Why is your uncle so angry?" Jenny asked as she struggles with them to shut the door.

"he is Not! My Uncle" she grumbled.

Suddenly the creaking sound from door stopped as the opposing force from the other side of the door lowered. They shut the door closed and slid down, tracing the door with their back. They heaved the sigh of relief sitting on the floor against the door. When Jenny rushed for the phone to call the cops, all of a sudden with a blue flash coming through the slits between the door and it's frame..... the door flung open, pushing Jake and Krystin forward. They yelped in pain as they fell down on the floor.
